WASHINGTON -- Democrats' plans to make Republican corruption a central theme of their election strategy this year were complicated by alleged wrongdoing in their own ranks, leading the party to try on Monday to blunt the political effects of the unfolding case against Rep. William Jefferson.
Democratic leaders sought to distance the party from Jefferson, the Louisiana Democrat who has been accused by the FBI of taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes.
In doing that, leaders tried to draw a distinction between the allegations against Jefferson and what they said was a much broader pattern among Republicans of trading legislative influence for campaign donations, trips and other perks.

Highlight Republican scandals while ignoring Democrat scandals. In years past, the Democrat Drive-By Media could have pulled it off.

The MSM will still try and cover this up. They will give it very marginal attention.
Are you as sick of the media as I am? They parrot America's enemies 24/7, cover, constantly for the Democrat party, shill for the DNC, and stick the Bush administration every opportunity they get.
Please join me in turning them off. Send them an email and tell them you will no longer view/listen to their tripe.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! That phrase would have had a rather blue connotation during the Clinton Administration.

I look forward to the fact that Jefferson appears to be pretty bull-headed and intends to stay on in spite of the clear evidence of his guilt.
And as a Louisianian I also anticipate reaping the fruits of a revived public perception that "this state's Democrats are crooks," which I hope will carry over into the 2007 state election campaign.
Here's to hoping Jefferson hangs on to the last!

Please join me in turning them off. I hear them on the radio, but I haven't watched liberal network news in years. I also stopped subscribing the the newspaper when, on one Easter morning ten years ago, the newspaper didn't mention Easter (except for a single article deep within the pages).

One additional comment I want to make here.
Am I the only one hoping that the videotapes of Jefferson are not released immediately, and show up about late September/early October?
Let's not rush this too much.
To: Neville72
The Marxist Media is doing it's part by complaining about the constitionality of the FBI search of Jefferson's DC office (while completely ignoring the substance of the investigation).
When a Republican is involved, it's the "seriousness of the charges" that trumps evidence which hasn't been found/fabricated yet. When a Democrat is involved, it's the "witch hunt" that trumps evidence that has been found.

The real news would be if a Louisiana democrat WASN'T crooked.
Which is why I'm so against sending any federal dollars to Lousiana for Katrina relief without oversight.

Don't forget rockem sockem McKenney, and the illegal money she funneled out of her house stationary fund to get one of her lackey Hollywood friends out to some hate filled "rally" against racist Washington cops.

No, don't send the media moguls email - they don't care about that.
The way to get the media to change is to complain to their *advertisers* and sponsors. Explain to them that you cannot understand why they spend money on these things that you object to and that until they pull their support for the show/network you will be buying the competition's product. Be specific. If and when they do pull their ad dollars out, send them another note thanking them.
Ask Bill Maher just how effective this technique is. He lost a very popular late night talk show almost overnight when he pissed off enough people who wrote his sponsors.
Hit them in the wallet - it's the only thing they will pay attention to.
