I think something at the Shell refinery just exploded. There was some kind of pressure wave that hit our house (here in Destrehan). I thought it was a strong gust of wind at first, but now it seems like there's an enourmous fire burning in that direction. I can hear a low roar when I go outside, and there's a orange glow in the sky in that direction.
I'll post more news if I hear any.

Refinery blast reported in south La., no injuries reported
NORCO, La. -- An explosion ignited a fire late Saturday at a petroleum refinery in the New Sarpy community of St. Charles Parish.
The fire was still burning early Sunday but it was under control and there were no injuries, St. Charles Parish spokesman Steve Sirmon said.
"There's no danger to anyone off the site," Sirmon said.
The explosion at the Valero Refining Co. refinery was reported about 11:45 p.m. and the fire was reported under control by about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
St. Charles Parish is a suburban and rural parish, split by the Mississippi River, west of New Orleans.
