The freedom of religion at Liberty Elementary School has gone too far for some parents at the Colleyville school.
The cover of the Keller ISD school's annual depicts the 2005 Liberty Nickel complete with the face of Thomas Jefferson but the words "In God We Trust" are missing.
Instead, the $16 yearbook contains a sticker with the credo and directions on how to apply it to the cover if the owner chooses.

A nickel from before the "PC" 1950s. Must be a rarity. Or a hoax. < /sarc >
You forgot....."In sex we trust"
> You are mis-quoting my own admission of error,
You said: "Minor misquote, not changing the substance of your remark..."
Even your "admission of error" is factually wrong. You, troll, *completely* changed the substance of my original statement. Those are the true marks of a troll.
> For the principal to remove that portion of the coin's face from the yearbook cover, on their own authority, is unjustifiable.
"Because I want to" is pretty good justification in a free society for basically everythign that is not outright illegal. If they wanted to put George Washington or Ayatollah Khomeini on the image of the nickel on their yearbook, they're free to do so. There is no law against it, so your claiming that it is "unjustifiable" is laughable.
Now, whether you agree with their doing so (I don't) is another matter. But for you and your ilk to get *so* hysterical about this reflects poorly on all conservatives.
You are now reduced to feeble attempts at plagiarism.
*Snicker*.
G'night troll.
Don't let your mother find out what you've been doing on her computer.
My lovely Christian daughter heard the Christian invocation given at her state college honors banquet, and asked incredulously, "Are they allowed to do that?"
It's restriction of government
Not restriction of citizen's rights
Except:
CFR
RTBA
etc.
Is this a difficult concept to comprehend?
Well - SCOTUS sez CFR.....
Too bad the yearbooks are always pre-paid for, otherwise I'd say don't buy them.
I love the highschool where all the seniors stood up and said the Lord's Prayer. People have to start fighting back.
Are they allowed to do that?
It's not allowed, only if you're an atheist, ACLU,
or separation of church and state FREAK.
Like many confounded SCOTUS rulings, Justice Hugo Black found of all things, a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to base his First Amendment twisted reasoning to establish a separation of church and state. There is not one utterance made/found in U.S. Constitution for such a horrendous decision. Christanity has taken a beating ever since. A cryptic message written on an outhouse wall would have also sufficed, I guess.
Change that to "Christ-hatred" and I'll agree with you. The leftists don't hate themselves, far from it. They hate Jesus Christ, His church, and the decent, moral people of the USA.
Exactly. Allah IS Satan by another name. Behind every false god and idol there is a demon lusting for worship from poor deceived dupes.
we could use a lot less Pluribus and a lot more Unum
> Don't let your mother find out what you've been doing on her computer.
That's really all you have, isn't it.
Ah, well.
We're not that country anymore, I'm afraid.
Your option 3 is just you trying to dress up a pig and call him Alice.
I wouldn't send my dog to a public school.
Ah. Insults.
I will acknowledge, however, that passing one's self off as a High Priest of Science has a certain attraction to some.... But the fact remains: a real High Priest of Science wouldn't be continually loitering on these threads tossing out insults instead of arguments. OTOH, experience has definitely shown that High Priests of Science can be very unpleasant people, and on that score you certainly fit the template.
> passing one's self off as a High Priest of Science
Strawman.
Plus: you seem to see priests in a negative light, since you use the term as an insult. I guess you must be anti-religion.
And maybe put the principal's likeness on the cover instead of Jefferson's.
Nope. See your tagline.
