I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.
Mod Note:
This could turn into a whack-a-troll thread. All immigration trolls that would like to participate should post here. It'll be interesting to see if we mods can whack the trolls faster than they can sign up new accounts.
Jim
My favorite part was when he said the NG would be assisting with buiilding the fence......Build it and much will be forgiven.
Non-sequitor?
My cutsie posts??? You gotta be a bushbot...I have never seen a group of people as arrogant, condescending and clueless as you bushbots...For the most part, you either won't or can't debate this, or a lot of other issues so you resort to insults...
What Bush is proposing is amnesty...You and he can call it a permanent guest worker program or you can call it a ride on the space shuttle...It's still anmensty...Just don't call it anmesty...
You people don't seem to care whether it's good for the country or bad...What's important to you is to side with Bush regardless...
There's my little rant...Now I'll go back to being cutsie...
I listened to Dobbs right before the speech..he let the cat out of the bag...he is for total Amnesty...no middle ground..nothing.
Uhhh, exactly which "they" are you talking of? If you are saying that the "they" of prisoners/criminals are a valuable asset, you are spot on. They are welcome to work for your company and in your community, while you welcome them to have relations with your children. It is great to know that we have true conservatives that believe that foreign interlopers should be granted blind trust while some US pothead, scofflaw, or heaven forbid litterbug presses license plates. Dip.
Did you watch Dobbs? I did and he was visibly upset afterward. It was to the point that he was cutting off Wolf Blitzer anytime he would speak. Dobbs was very dissatisfied and there is no denying that.
Tancredo liked PARTS of the speech but had big problems with it as well. Again, I actually watched it rather than depending of thirdhand information.
Yes, the people causing trouble in Europe are not like Mexicans. Generally you don't have to worry about being attacked when you visit Mexico, as long as you stay out of the rough parts of town. It's similar to most American cities. On the other hand, a friend of mind literally got into a fight for his life on a trip into North Africa back in the 70s. He and his friends got out alive and well, but they left a few locals in bad shape. That's all I can say, but clearly that country was not a hospitable place and you and I know why.
"For some, anything less than concentration camps or a Bataan death march as amnesty..."
That's just a blatant falsehood, the number of people who believe that is trivial. However, unless we stem the tide quickly, we are headed towards Tijuana status.
---"It's not clear who started the rumor that Dobbs liked the speech but they are certainly in error." ---
Perhaps Peach could enlighten us. That's where I first saw it.
2. Non-sequitor?
Non sequitur.
"doity" was just another way of saying "dirty", with a big city accent. Sorry, that's probably not in the French vocabulary as it is a colloquialism. "Vulgar: as a word would do instead.
"These people don't care! The cut off your nose to spite your facers, here, would much rather get NOTHING, then get most of what they claim to want."
Actually, Congress is the chief problem for me and many other FReepers. As much as we all dislike the RINOs, we still must maintain our majority in both houses.
its been all the administraions. i'm just more upset on the position mexico has taken, which is to pretty much shove it in our face. can we just zip down to cancun without processing? i doubt it, just ask that frito bandito prez fox.
We will probably have another big hit and the President and open border crowd are going to get slapped by the people big time.
We've been lucky in part IMO.
My guess? The communists in South America have been busy organizing with our own home grown communists and they saw an opportunity ripe for their intervention. So, now we have them agitating the situation. And the illegals are becoming radicalized and more brazen, South American style.
Amen.
There are laws on the books now, they should be cracking down on employers NOW. Take away the incentives to come here (readily available employment with no consequeces is one of hem) and many will go home.
You are one of many who don't really understand the concept of illegal OR what it means when we as a society no longer respect our laws.
LOL !
(We'll see who is laughing when 12 million new Democrats register to vote)
Jim Gilcrest formed the Minutemen... I believe Tancredo has befriended the Minutemen.
