[history]
I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.
Mod Note:
This could turn into a whack-a-troll thread. All immigration trolls that would like to participate should post here. It'll be interesting to see if we mods can whack the trolls faster than they can sign up new accounts.

I wonder if George and Laura will be able to escape to Kennebunkport in time, before Texas becomes the new Mexican state of Tejas? Get enough illegal Mexicans who think the S.W. was stolen from them legalized, and this could become the case.No worries, Vicente Fox will set aside Crawford as an ejido to be run by la familia Booosh.

I guess you missed "going to the back of the line." The Back Of The Line to most wishing to come to the U.S. to work & live is the American Embassy in their home country and applying for permission to come here through legal means. That will be by-passed. They jumped that line. No spin about it. They no matter what Bushquist says are not going to be anywhere near the back of the line on this. They have also just been rewarded for such things as disrupting transportation and commerce.

(If it was wrong for Clinton why do some support it for Bush? Party over nation destroys the nation.)

Does he seem to be getting more shrill, or is just me?

I wish. But whoever presented the speech did a very poor impression of Chief Executor and defender of the constitution
I'm sick.
Peoples sons are dying to defend our nations sovereignty while others are giving it away.

Hey but Andrew Sullivan just loved the speech. So, there is one person on board.A lot of democrats did too. They just wonder why it hasn't been done sooner.
That should tell us a lot.

I tell you. I don't know what's wrong with the guy. He must be having a super bad, stressful day.

Yup.
It seems that the Republican leadership is willing to watch the party burn to the ground rather than respect the base on this issue. What's so hard to figure out? Enforcment first, then we can sort out the "comprehensive" measures later. Anything else is political suicide.

I do hope you check out the whitehouse.gov site and read what our president has done to address a problem that was way out of hand before he ever became president. You do know that Reagan pardoned 3 million illegals? and y ou are aware of the fact that Bush is president..not KING! and of the 3 legislative branches of government?
To: joebuck
Yep. After tonight we better get used to hearing people address "Speaker Pelosi"The House passes HR4437 a pretty good bill and you say that the American people are unhappy with the House?

It was a question. "Yes" or "no" would suffice.

So WHY haven't YOU called the INS/ICE on them?
You aren't doing your part; you just complain here, which does no good.

Due to a lack of conservative turn out regarding the vote in 2005, the governor has been whipped into submission.
The unions are still not his friend and will probably spend over 100 million again to remove him.
At least he had the manhood to take on the public employees and teacher's unions. I can't say that for the conservatives that were too lazy to vote.
Arnold was at least brave enough to put it out there and try in the beginning.
He did keep his word. We screwed up our end of the deal.

The only people who will usher Speaker Pelosi in are the whiners here, who are furious Bush didnt fire up the ovens.
You know, even if the Dems did take Congress, the President still has a veto. Any impeachment effor will fail, because the Dems aren't likely to have 67 votes in the Senate either way. So its not as apocalyptic as some make it seem, unless the President won't veto their liberal agenda. Or perhaps in desperation to elect republicans, a bunch of RINOs get elected and then start to vote with the Dems to override a Presidential veto. A dem congress and a Rep President would result in Deadlock, meaning that neither the Reps or the Dems could do much damage.

Biometric card only for aliensmany illegals have biometric cards now, and the government refuses to use the biometrics to detect abuse, so I guess we can just ditch this as worthless fodder for the uninformed
