You know, even if the Dems did take Congress, the President still has a veto. Any impeachment effor will fail, because the Dems aren't likely to have 67 votes in the Senate either way. So its not as apocalyptic as some make it seem, unless the President won't veto their liberal agenda. Or perhaps in desperation to elect republicans, a bunch of RINOs get elected and then start to vote with the Dems to override a Presidential veto. A dem congress and a Rep President would result in Deadlock, meaning that neither the Reps or the Dems could do much damage.

True, and an impeachment without removal won't eliminate him from office.

On the other hand, the Democratic-controlled Congress will cut the Iraq budget and force a withdrawal. The President will not be able to veto that.
