It seems that the Republican leadership is willing to watch the party burn to the ground rather than respect the base on this issue. What's so hard to figure out? Enforcment first, then we can sort out the "comprehensive" measures later. Anything else is political suicide.
It will be their undoing. It's a shame they didn't take the base seriously.
