A good argument for getting rid of welfare...

The clerks dispensing welfare checks in San Diego lamented that they earned less than the people coming to collect those checks for doing nothing at all. When a welfare check pays more than performing honest labor, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what people will do.

When I was coming up,many white middle class kids took summer jobs at Tahoe casinos and hotels.Now its almost all Mexicans,probably illegals,doing those busboy and kitchen jobs.The white kids now are hanging out on the beach at their jet skis or perhaps hooking up with dad's law firm for a summer internship.
I was taught early that hard,dirty work was no disgrace.Thats not the attitude today of most white or black kids out here in California.

Oh not much just jobs like:

• Bus boy
• Dishwasher
  
• Short order cook
  
• Janitor / cleaning lady
  
• Drywall Installer
• Roofers
  
• General Laborer on a Construction site. Like 'Ditch Digger' (yes there is a job like that. Sewer lines don't get laid by magic, shovels ARE still required)

So just jobs like the above. Dirty back breaking jobs and not much to brag about, but they put food on the table. And until the invasion, historically performed by Blacks due to education, or lack thereof.

Child labor laws need to be reformed as soon as the fence is built. Most employers will not hired kids as it is not economically feasible especially when compared to illegals.

All things equal would you hired a child and have to pay comp and all the withholding versus hiring an adult. In most cases an adult will do a better job. And since illegals tend to take the jobs our children used to do....?

My #2 son wanted to work in fast food in Mira Mesa (San Diego). He was shut out of most places as they were 100% asian kids. The Mexican places insisted on having Spanish speakers. That was something he could act upon. He now speaks fluent Spanish. That turned into a major asset in his work as a real estate agent/broker.

For a few reasons - all monetary

1. Illegals will work for MUCH cheaper wages (below Minimum wage).
2. Illegals in many cases work for cash so...
3. NO taxes are taken out, employer pockets money.
4. Illegals, if injured won't go for workman's comp
5. Illegals will take more cr*p from a boss, in fear of being turned in.

It's certainly NOT because Illegals work harder. That canard is utter bull.

Just anecdotal evidence but I overheard a construction supervisor and another guy talking (strangers) about immigrants and the construction guy was talking about what hard workers Mexicans are and how they always show up for work. It made me wonder.

BTW, illegals are still entitled to worker's comp if they are injured on the job.

What risks? There is absolutely *no* workplace enforcement of our emigration laws. There is no risk to employ illegals instead of citizens or legal emigrants.
