The Democrats are seeking payback for losing Kentucky. Knocking off Fletcher is their way to set themselves up to getting back into the Governor's mansion in Frankfurt.

They are lovely people, thought. Salt of the earth.I believe you and I do like Kentucky and I am sure that the majority of her citizens are much better than those in certain parts of New York (excluding where I am that is).

Once upon a time, before the Federal courts went beserk, state and local governments had the power to award patronage and fire members of the opposing party after an election. Now we have unaccountable abusive government by judicial fiat, which puts "fairness" to government employees uber alles.

This just get so tiring: the Republicans show up for a boxing match while the Democrats show up for a knife fight.
The Republicans are terrified of being depicted in the MSM as insensitive mud slingers who embrace dirty tactics.
Well, wake the H*ll up!
The MSM is a dying form of information and your base is sick and tired of your ' make nice ' tactics!

Do I read that to mean that in Kentucky it is illegal for a Governor to say... hire people in his own office that support his administration?
What sort of silly madness is this?

Many in the GOP will be out of a job in November, they forgot how to fight back I often wonder if they relied too much on the WOT to help get them elected that after 5 years they forgot how to run and campaign on any other issues.
and they forgot their base
You can say that again
Looks like at least the House will turn over to the Dems
I'm afraid you may be right.
which means impeachment hearings for Bush.
C'mon, look at how weak the GOP is even as a majority. I would not be surprised if Bush were impeached even with the democrats as a minority. With 'republicans' like Specter, who needs democrats? And the band played on.
