Inside that excellent link you provided:

Since President Bush took office, agents have apprehended and sent home more than 6 million people entering the country illegally - including more than 400,000 with criminal records.

Federal, State, local, and tribal law enforcement are working together. More than 600,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended through the Arizona Border Control Initiative last year - an increase of more than 50 percent over the previous year. The men and women of our Border Patrol have made good progress - but we have much more work ahead, and we will not be satisfied until our agents have full control of our border.

Looked at it and see this:

Since President Bush took office, agents have apprehended and sent home more than 6 million people entering the country illegally - including more than 400,000 with criminal records. Federal, State, local, and tribal law enforcement are working together. More than 600,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended through the Arizona Border Control Initiative last year.

If 600,000 were captured in Arizona, how many made it through?! What is the percent apprehended? And what percent caught had been apprehended one or more times previously?

No matter the answers to the math questions, the answer to the actual problem is a wall, not high tech gadgets that won't work in an Arizona dust storm, or subject to lightning strikes in summer, or power failure by a coyote who knows how to sabotage the system. It's obvious, obvious, obvious to all but those who won't see.

The White House press release only makes me madder. So-called earned citizenship is an insulting euphemism for amnesty. That "they have to go to the back of the line" is simply a lie. They are already here - that's the head of the line - while those who are trying to follow the legal immigration procedures cool their heels abroad for years. The future of the country as a nation of laws is at stake, and the Republican party is at risk of going the way of the Whigs.

Secure the border FIRST. Then discuss the guest worker BS.

The President's amnesty(temporary worker program) would be impossible to monitor. And the very far left has already taken conttrol of these people for their own purposes, with no objection from the government. I don't understand how 31 percent of the people think GWB is doing a good job, when he absolutely has a closed mind to what the US people demand. Sorry, I don't believe a word the man utters on this subject.

Let me start out by saying I believe Reagan was/is the greatest President in my g-g-generation, so far (I'm not quite dead yet). His greatest mistake IMHO was the amnesty granted to the illegals of the day.

Since then the problem has increased by an order of magnitude. The tired cliche, "those who cannot remember history . . ." still rings true as we slouch inexorably towards socialism.

Believe the rhetoric if you will; don't fault others for not doing the same . . .

Here's my take. I have lived on the border for years, and for years money has been thrown at the border problems, and promises have been made and broken. I believed President Bush was a man of his word, I took him at his word and defended him on border issue threads for a long time. I lost respect for President Bush because he has broken promises about what he would do to secure the border. I also lost respect for him when he called the Minutemen vigilantes and I lose more respect for him every time he says "jobs Americans won't do" to me that is a slap on every American. There is no such thing as a job Americans won't do. Americans do all sorts of nasty hard work every day. I lose respect for the man every time he panders to Mexico at our expense.

I am now at the point when it comes to border issues and politicians that I will only believe it when I see it. If this border gets secured I will be among the first to know. If it is President Bush that accomplishes it, then he will gain back some of my former respect. That may sound like a hard line, but I am fed up and pretty words on a website just don't cut it for me.

That is why Democrats are so upset over Bush over immigration... Bush is not promising instant citizenship and overt amnesty, provisions that most democrats have demanded.

Window dressing. Don't listen to their words; watch their actions. So far, their actions aren't all that impressive.

The text at your link can't even complete two sentences without resorting to a bald-faced lie: "...allows foreign workers to fill jobs that Americans are not willing to do..."
