Put the fence in the budget. Then it can't be filibustered and construction can start at once. Have Fox run pictures of fence going up. Bush orders Border Patrol to make more arrests.
Progress is visible.
Election is won.

Nice collage...but "scare tactics" won't work.

The Pubs can return to their base and win the election.....or continue down the Big Government / hispandering path and toss it. It's theirs to lose.

Remember..."Cause" always comes before "effect".

Don't blame those who might sit it out....
put the blame where it belongs... on the Pubs who are CREATING the situation by wandering over to the liberal squishy-touchy-feely side of things...

Ask yourself when the last time Republicans got into office without their conservative base?

It looks like you're tryin to run damage control before a disaster strikes.
Instead of making silly collages...why not spend your time more effectively by contacting your GOP members and asking them why they're throwing the next election away.

...focused like a white hot laser beam on about 10 Republican Senators...

OK, Vic, Where's your hit list? I won't even count if you come up with more than 10. If you make the list, I'll write my letters and I'm sure other FRs will, too.

Do Congressmen even accept letters anymore, since the anthrax scare? Christopher Shays of Connecticut does not.

I don't have a particular "hit list", although Senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Arlen Specter, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Lincoln Chaffee, Sam Brownback and Bill Frist all would be on it if I did for supporting some sort of amnesty/guest worker or only moderate increases in border control, in a year when we need to be focusing on getting a fence approved for the entire length of the border.

I don't really think that targeting Congressmen and Senators outside of your own district has much impact. (In truth, I don't even think that targeting your own representatives has much impact period, except in an election year.)

Still, Republicans need to turn up the heat and volume on their OWN elected officials, both parties, within their own districts, telling them "No amnesty this year, a full fence this year, only."

SOME Democrats might even exploitatively jump on that bandwagon (Hillary Clinton pretends to have), and that's GOOD because it puts Republicans who want amnesty or who are hoping the status quo will survive in a more impossible situation.

Contact your own Congressmen and Senators - Democrat or Republican - and make it clear, even if it falls on deaf ears they will at least HEAR it and sense the trend. If the Dems game the border fence like Hillary is, it forces Republicans to the right.

Republicans across the board need to know that if there is amnesty and no border fence this year, they're going down as the majority party too. DEMOCRATS need to know that too, so that THEY are tempted to either get out in front of Republicans on the fence...which gets the fence...or are tempted to obstruct more loudly, which puts Republicans who won't vote for the fence in a more politically impossible pro-Democrat position.

Focus on your own Congressmen and Senators, the ones you can vote for. Tell them what to do. Tell them that you will not vote for them if they don't. Tell them that the Republican Party is going to lose Congress if the Party itself does not enforce discipline.

The polls are saying it.
If you want to write, you say the same thing.

Oh, and go ahead and target John McCain, particularly. He wants to be President. Dangle the idea that you can get on his friends list (so the fundraisers will start funding you) if he will pull his head out of his ass and support a fence but shut up about amnesty this year, otherwise he can forget about your vote or money ever.

They're not always honest with you.
You don't have to be completely honest with them either.

There you go.

That would do it.

Visible signs of enforcement are really the only way people will believe a politician from Washington on this issue at this point.

Newt should be a 'campaign advisor' or do the 'talking' for our tongue-tied Repubs; write the platform etc.

While I seldom say 'never'. . .do not think with 'two divorces' he would be a viable candidate for President. . .

That said. . .I love Newt and wish we would see more; hear more and more. . .from him. . .he should be in the President's cabinet. . .or somewhere, close by ;^)

Inspiring, don'tchaknow. Yuck. Will the current crop ever learn to lead? And they even have a president who does show leadership, albeit he does make mistakes.

I'm afraid the GOP has pretty much made its bed. How many more times do they have to tell us to run up and kick the football, only to have it pulled away.

Shut up, Newt! Go away!!! We don't need your support anyway!! We don't need the votes of the so-called "conservatives" that you're talking about because they're just a bunch of moronic, right-wing, extremist, fringe whacko, malcontent, unappeasable, fake conservative, democrat loving, stupid hicks who want Hillary for President and Pelosi for speaker!!! Brrraaaaaaaccccckkkkkkk!!!!!!!! They probably never voted for Republicans in the first place! They're just Democrats trying to ruin our chances! The polls are lying!!!

Is it time for your medication?

Many financial experts are predicting that Medicare will bankrupt this country.

Don't be silly. All they need to do is crank up the printing presses and start up the "Make Money FAST!" engine.

Why do you think they just stopped releasing the M3 numbers, making it literally impossible for us to know how much the currency has been inflated?

And why do you think that since that point, there's been a full court press to convince us that "inflation" is an index of the cost of various goods and services, rather than the actual definition of inflation, i.e., the amount by which the amount of currency has been INFLATED?

They are creating the foundation for the Mother of All Fixes for out of control spending. They are setting the stage for a nightmare that many other societies have endured. With the spendthrift insanity of the past few years spiraling way past the stratosphere, and the recent secretization of the size of the currency, the pieces are all in place for them to "monetize the debt."

"We owe eleventy nine gajillion megabux? No problem! We'll just print it up now, while you wait! There ya go, debt paid! Have a nice day! What you say? Your money is now worth nearly nothing? Sorry, not OUR problem. We paid you the amount of dollars we owed you, now move along."

Of course, YOU won't be able to make like the proverbial (or literal!) farmer, who, during the collapse of the Weimar Republic, paid off the balance of the mortgage on his farm with the proceeds from the sale of ONE egg.

What will happen is that the banking and "debt" lobby will get the same thing they got with the recent bankruptcy "reform" law, which is to say, they will get their way.

What that will mean for YOU is that while the value of your assets -- let's say those few Gold Eagles you bought for $250 a piece a couple of years ago (now worth over $700 each, and climbing) may very well be worth $50,000 each -- but, you won't be able to sell them, and use the proceeds to pay off your mortgage using those hyperinflated dollars. You can take this to the bank: YOUR debt -- banking, credit card, etc. -- WILL be "indexed", if necessary, via "emergency executive order" -- to "reflect currency valuation changes." You will be mollified by being told that the banking and credit sector MUST be protected as part of the critical national infrastructure, blah blah blah. And, the $50,000 balance due on your mortgage will now be "indexed" so that you will owe several tens of millions of dollars.

Go ahead, laugh. It CAN'T happen HERE, right? Never mind that it's happened time and again over history, with currencies stripped of any actual value (i.e., when "money" is no longer a token for a fixed amount of precious metal), inflated to reflect the "need" for additional "dollars". It's happening right now in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. EVERYONE is a "millionaire" -- but no one can afford a blessed thing!

Medicare is the least of our worries. It's a symptom of a system gone mad with the power to "borrow its way to prosperity." Well, I guess someone figured that they really could "borrow their way to prosperity", so long as they had the ability to print up "money" to pay the bills.

Is there a potential Republican candidate sufficiently mush-spined, morally relativistic, and amenable to compromising with evil to win your support?
