The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic needs your help this coming weekend. Code Pink and Cindy Sheehan will be holding a 24-hour protest in front of the White House starting Saturday, May 13th. We are looking to have a near constant presence there to balance out their treaonous propaganda.
We are also looking for more people to join us at Walter Reed this (and every) Friday night.
And....we need help counter-protesting an enemy propaganda display on the National Mall starting this Thursday through Saturday morning.
I know many of the readers and participants on Free Republic don't think it's worth countering the anti-American left. And I know others are getting weary after many years of activism. However, the one thing I know above all else is that the anti-American left is working tirelessly to aid their terrorist allies by waging a political on the home front in order to bring about a repeat of Vietnam. They are counting on you to stay home, or to be worn down by constantly countering them.
I'm tired, but I'm reminded of our soldiers who are volunteering for third and fourth tours in Iraq. I'm reminded every Friday night of the courage and dedication of our wounded at Walter Reed, most of whom want nothing more than to heal so they can return to their units in harm's way.
I'm also reminded of family members in uniform. One is serving in Afghanistan taking fire from Code Pink's allies on the Pak border.
There are thousands of Freepers and lurkers in the D.C. metropolitan area--but you rarely turn out. I'm asking you to turn out this weekend and join the D.C. Chapter in our battle on the home front. Yes, I know it's Mother's Day weekend. But our soldiers and their families are sacrificing everything, you can sacrifice some time for them, can't you?
If you'd like to see what the enemy has planned, click here to see Code Pink's plans and here.
Click here for the details on the enemy propaganda event on the Mall beginning Thursday. They will be holding a phoney-baloney candle light vigil Thursday night at 8:15 at 14th St. on the Mall.
The D.C. Chapter will be there Thursday night at 7:45 to counter. We'll also be at Walter Reed Friday night from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Lafayette Park from 2 p.m. Saturday through Sunday at 3 p.m.
Check back on this thread for updates.
Please pass this along to your families and friends in the area. Service family members are especially welcome to stand with us.
Lurkers can contact the D.C. Chapter though this link with questions or to confirm attendance.

I can't be there. I will be participating in a 24-hour prayer meeting at my church that Friday, and have other church stuff on Saturday.
Great idea! Bumping through from Ohio.
Just take them down! Especially if they are too close to the house.

I wonder if Sheehan will stomp for illegal alien rights?

Riggs and Murtaugh.."Thats thin" .."Yeah, really thin"
"It's so thin, it makes Twiggie look fat"
Bumping for support. I'm debuting some work at a gallery opening Fri. and won't be able to make it to town. But please pass along a message to Susan "c-list frozen food pimp" Sarandon: "All the Revlon in the world can't hide the ugly inside."
Prayers for a large turnout to help......bump.
Thanks.
Not to sound really dumb
But why on earth is Ms Sheehan NOT with her surviving children on Mother's Day or any other FAMILY ORIENTED holiday on the callendar. Does she care that little for her family?
Is her hatred for President Bush greater that her loove for her family?
I'm not asking just about her but those others who choose to protest with her as well.
They're Marxists. The revolution comes first.
Thanks, Wayne. Doing this on top of our everyday lives is taxing. However, the left is making inroads and must be countered. Everyone knows what the game is: keep wearing down morale at home so the politicians will pull the plug like they did in Vietnam. We can't let that happen again.
I put the schedule toward the end of the thread. As you can see, there's not much interest in supporting our troops this week. As for the Minuteman Project, I don't know what their plans are for Friday.
Look like their little dog-and-pony show will be stinking up my neighborhood Sat. & Sun. I'm going to see what I can do to rain on their parade.
You know, I love a few good men.
Bump
