I hate to say it but I'm not really sure who this Colbert is or why this jackass Elfman is pushing him so vigorously other then his being a fellow Bush-hater. Maybe that's enough.

Colbert is a John Stewart wannbe, only less funny.
Elfman is a TV critic, IOW he is a no talent hack who spend his life criticizing others. I've scrapped stuff off the the bottom of my shoe, that had a higher IQ !

....Colbert's funnier, harsher jokes.....

I watched both performances. Colbert fell flat on his ass. The audience did not laugh and had embarrased looks. There were calls for the hook in the location from which I watched.

The man flat out blew a great opportunity.

'Star comedian?' Holding up a picture of Eric Cartman would have been funnier than this jackass.

Colbert sucked big time, perhaps that's why he was mostly ignored. He was the worse I've seen at the WHCD. You know where this guy is coming from when he says CNN is balanced, lol.
In past years it seems the president always gets more of the attention, anyway, and this year the president was funnier than I've ever seen.

Colbert's humor works well in a controlled, Tele-Promptered, Canned Laughter enviornment.

Considering that nearly all of his "jokes" TANKED before a silent audience. I can kind of imagine the MSM's hesitation in airing Colbert's miserably un-funny diatribe.

Jack.

It's a sad commentary. Things must be bad for them if they think crap like " "I stand by Bush," Colbert cracked, "because he stands for things. Not only for things, he stands on things. Things like aircraft carriers and rubble, and recently flooded city squares. And that sends a strong message that no matter what happens to America, she will always rebound with the most powerfully staged photo ops in the world." is funny. It's hard to read stuff like this without just shaking one's head at the way the left takes itself so seriously. Talk about hubris...

The liberals are pissed because Colbert's bombing marks the fact that all the "Bush Is An Idiot" jokes have jumped the shark.

And a full ten points better than Harry Truman, the democRAT who, based on bad intelligence, lied to the country and murdered hundreds of thousands of innocent Japanese CIVILIANS with the only nuclear weapons ever used in combat.

TRUMAN LIED AND INNOCENTS DIED! IMPEACH TRUMAN!

(he is quite simply the worst communicator of all U.S. presidents)

Worse than Chester Arthur? Worse than Grover Cleveland? Is this idiot some presidential historian?

Dubya's not glib, but I'll wager the Taliban and Sadamm and his surviving murdering thugs understand him perfectly now.

There are cable news channels like MSNBC, where Republicans have programmed the shows and hired on-air Republicans and conservatives-lite, from Tucker Carlson to Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews.

For a professional television critic to believe that Chris Matthews is in any way a conservative just underscores what a load of crap this article is. I'm glad you posted it, it shows how far over the edge some of the lunatics really are...lol

"... and hired on-air Republicans and conservatives-lite, from Tucker Carlson to Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews"

This moron doesn't even know that Chris Matthews is a liberal Democrat who worked for Tip O'Neill.

Elf-person doesnt get it. Colbert's speil was barely mentioned and panned because he was hired as a comedian and he wasnt that funny. That's all. There was no conspiracy to make Colbert un-funny, he just did it himself.

Thing with Helen Thomas? ... WORST. SKIT. EVER.

Now THAT'S funny.
