Current Poll - 13% of members will turn it over to the rats????

Posted on 05/06/2006 9:51:50 AM PDT by Sonora

Current poll:

"A time for choosing: It appears that a significant number of our members are so disgusted with the GOP's failure to secure our borders against illegal aliens that they are willing to risk all by voting them out of office, even if it means Pelosi, Reid, Hillary, et al, are allowed to take charge. Is this the best course of action or should we be working harder than ever to hold the line and actually try to make a difference by getting more constitutionally-minded conservatives elected? Are you willing to give it all up or are you more determined than ever to keep the Marxists out of power?" _____

So far, 13% of members and 18%+ of participants in this poll say - turn it over to the rats. What's with that? I cannot believe that 13% of those posting here are so stupid or angry with what is happening that they would turn to the rats for the way back to perfect. Now, 13% will result in a winning vote, in a lot of cases.

Anyway, I guess that there is no compromising for some people - just dig a hole and live there while the rats are in charge. I'm so disappointed.

So we had four years of Jimmy Carter, the man who started the surrender to Islamic fundamentalism with his weak-kneed policy in Iran.

Of which he was continuing a policy established by Jerry Ford actually. No assassination upon foreign heads of state. A Ford E.O. The heads of state supporting terrorism then knew the U.S. would not punish them with death. Carter signed a simuliar E.O. as did Reagan. Reagan did choose a military strike though.

Even taking the 15% at face value - this spells disaster for the Republicans in the upcoming election. There are very few districts where a congressional candidate can lose 15% of their base and still win.

Which is why it is completely idiotic for anyone to encourage others to walk out on the Republicans. First of all, it isn't good for the country. The 'rats, if they get control, will waste two years with investigations out the yin-yang while we're supposed to fight a war on terror. They won't renew tax cuts, and they'll continue to balkanize America with the help of the LameStream Media.

Keep a Republican majority and we can stem the tide--we may not get all we want, but politics is the art of the possible, not the perfect.

?? Get into the context of this argument before you post, okay? That is completely off topic and has nothing to do with my statement about Reagan's example and what to do about a less-than-perfect Republican party.

Great. If you follow Reagan's example you won't abandon it in the election, and you won't encourage others to do the same.

We obviously will both draw from different Reagan experiences. I will work to effect change by removing power-hungry, unprincipled Republicans from office. I will encourage you and others (and yes - I realize I stand little chance of convincing you) to boot the Republicans who have sold out the conservative cause.

Even dumb azz sKerry knew he went too far in his run for the presidency when talking about gun control. Had to reverse himself PDQ and put on that little duck hunting show. I think it was ducks. Someone here will correct me if I'm wrong.

It ain't just rednecks that hunt and have guns.

You made a partially true statement and I corrected it. I read the whole post. But what I posted is the truth of the matter about Ford, Carter, and Iran.

Here is a good article...don't know if you will "buy into it"...but, it certainly pertains to a lot we have discussed today.

It's fine to discuss what the voters think, but we oughtn't use it as a basis on which to make a policy decision

Which came first the campaign promise or the policy? In this case the promise came first and have yet to be carried out thus the approval ratings went down. NOT the other way around.

I never suggested that Bush follow the polls. The polls followed Bush...Bush left the agenda.

The rise to viability by a third party will take time and it will almost certainly be painful because the Democrats will mathematically be almost certain to take power during any such rise.

But you gotta start somewhere. Today's GOP is growing more liberal by the day and the party is largely spineless. They may talk differently from Democrats but here's reality: Under a GOP majority for years, the country has gone further into the clutches of political correctness and liberal idiocy. Under the current situation or anything like it, the best we can hope for is to slow the momentum of the liberal takeover of this society. That's unacceptable.

I'm sick of yielding on everything we stand for, one little compromise at a time. If there hadn't been people in the past willing to step out for a better way, we'd still have the exact two parties we started with a couple hundred years ago.

You have a valid argument, how's that?

But don't say voting your conscience is playing games....

If anyone is curious about how the Dims intend to win this November a lesson can be learned from a telephone poll conducted right after the May 2nd primary in Indiana.

Which of the following would make you more likely to vote this Nov.? Press one for: The high cost of gasoline. Press two for: Run away spending by Congress. Press three for: Corruption in Congress.

They didn't say who paid for the poll but you can bet it was a Democrat candidate. There was no mention of illegal immigrants or closing the border because Democrats do not intend to do anything about either issue. Voting for a Dim candidate, not voting, voting third party and letting the Dims win isn't going to help. That is what they are hoping we are foolish enough to do. I will be working for and voting for Republican candidates. Voting for a Dim, not voting, or voting third party is out of the question.

What's worse a republican politician who, after having been elected by the republican voter, moves to the left to get the liberal's vote in the next election? ,Or a republican who votes 3rd party because he was dissapointed?

Who's leaving who?

Kerry still hasn't signed off on that form, to release his records. Of greater consequence is his involvement with the Viet Cong.
