Current Poll - 13% of members will turn it over to the rats????

Posted on 05/06/2006 9:51:50 AM PDT by Sonora

Current poll:

"A time for choosing: It appears that a significant number of our members are so disgusted with the GOP's failure to secure our borders against illegal aliens that they are willing to risk all by voting them out of office, even if it means Pelosi, Reid, Hillary, et al, are allowed to take charge. Is this the best course of action or should we be working harder than ever to hold the line and actually try to make a difference by getting more constitutionally-minded conservatives elected? Are you willing to give it all up or are you more determined than ever to keep the Marxists out of power?" _____

So far, 13% of members and 18%+ of participants in this poll say - turn it over to the rats. What's with that? I cannot believe that 13% of those posting here are so stupid or angry with what is happening that they would turn to the rats for the way back to perfect. Now, 13% will result in a winning vote, in a lot of cases.

Anyway, I guess that there is no compromising for some people - just dig a hole and live there while the rats are in charge. I'm so disappointed.

Thats a shame, I personally am not advocating leaving the republican party, just not voting for Rinos. So I wouldn't vote for Chaffe or Snowe, but would love to vote for Santorum and Talent.

Is part of the reason Santorum and Talent doing poorly because the national GOP refuses to fund them? Roves strategy to win congress has been to purge conservatives at every turn, this could easily be another part of that plan. 100% speculation however.

Why don't you just post about the topic, which is the poll...instead of making this all about attacking another freeper...

You did start it...

no...you have any evidence that the GOP is refusing to fund two loyal incumbent senators...that's paranoia

"Roves strategy to win congress has been to purge conservatives at every turn, this could easily be another part of that plan"

how does losing seats make for a good strategy to win congress....

It is conservatives like Santorum and Talent that are in trouble

True. In fact, Im not going to be working to help Snowe. She's secure. I am focusing on our governor race. I will be supporting whoever the republican is. Baldacci's destroying the state. Also, I think there's a female republican running against Tom Allen. I will be supporting her.

Other than that... I can use the time I would have used for Snowe to help Santorum and Talent.

If your state is secure this 2006 I recommend others do the same.

The greater war is being waged extremely successfully on virtually every front. They are losing, we are winning. They are flat out being killed every day, their money is drying up, their santuaries are being rooted out, they are down from their A team to the scrubs. There has not been a succesful mission here since 9/11.

The WOT overseas, in the early days, was superior. The WOT overseas, subsequently, is doing very well. I don't have an issue with the WOT being operated outside our country. Domestically, however, saying "I'm unhappy" is an understatement. (Please remember how many cells were found to be sleeper cells; to think they're all gone now is ludicrous, imho. Remember, the terrorists have proven, if nothing else, they have tremendous patience and bide their time quite well, waiting for opportunities...even if that takes years.)

According to Senate Hutchison, there has been "an increase of 137 percent in immigrants who are from countries other than Mexico. These immigrants, which are called OTMs, "other than Mexicans," are coming into our country in the largest numbers we have ever seen. But due to a lack of resources, they are often caught and released, or they are not caught at all." According to her and Senator Ensign, "Muslim prayer rugs and instructions in Arabic on how to cross the border of the Rio Grande River, are just wake-up calls that we cannot avoid."

If the number caught/arrested crossing our border is approximately 40% (2004 = 1,159,802) out of the 8,000 estimated who cross daily (8,000 * 365 = 2,920,000 yearly crossing illegally), that means 60% are not caught or arrested. The 60% not caught or arrested translates into 485 people (175,200/365) come through our borders, EVERYDAY, who are not caught or arrested.

It only took 19 people to kill thousands.

I said I had zero evidence in my post and it was speculation.

"how does losing seats make for a good strategy to win congress...."

Because letting people like Spectre win ends up being worse than a democrat winning.

I am not really fond of having to vote for the "lesser" of two evils, but I am not prepared to turn the government over to the socialist dims. A third party candidate is not feasible due to what our political landscape resembles now and I don't see it changing any time soon. Of course it's not what it is supposed to be, but as agitated as I get sometimes, I will not quit trying and vote for a lib, ever/never, it ain't gonna happen.

Thankfully in Texas we have better choices than in many other places. And maybe this poll was directed more elsewhere than here because I know they didn't ask me!

I am so tired of the 100% mantra I could puke.

NOBODY is asking for 100%.

What they want is more than 10%. Is that not fair? That's all I'm getting right now.

Yes, you are very right about that hanging ball, right over the plate...

Someone, other than Tancredo, (nothing personal on my part, but he has made some statements that have hurt him)..needs to step up and just SWING...it would be a home run for sure..

If it is obvious to us....why do so many Republicans keep the bat on their shoulder???

Well sorry Dave...but the security and moral values of my nation are more important than playing little political games as you propose.

Republicans (most of them) have given us 2 conservative Justices. Two more are probably going to retire unless they die first. I want a Republican majority congress to vote two more conservative Justices in. For that reason alone I will give the Republicans my vote and support!!!

2006 may be the first time I vote for a 3rd party.

Let's face it. Unless your clone is running for office, you're not likely to be in total agreement with a candidate on every issue. It's possible, but it's rare.

You're voting for a candidate that you support 98%, maybe 70%, or perhaps much less.

If you're intelligent, you weigh your choices. Which candidate am I better off helping to win?

Win is the key. I would vote to help the candidate who I agree with only 33% of the time over the candidate who I'd agree with 10% of the time.

And I'd do that rather than cast a symbolic vote for a third party candidate whom I agreed with 100% of the time, unless that person was actually competitive in the race.

Charging the machine gun nest with a broomstick to make a point is stupid.

Nobody wants 100%, we just want someone who at least doesn't advance socialism. The current republican leadership wants socialism, but they are going to do it slower, and somehow think they can do it with low taxes.

Okay...you are right...and this is when we need to bombard Ken Mehlman with our complaints...he is the conduit to both the politicians in Congress now..and the ones that plan on running..

Peach mentioned a while back, that this forum we are on is called "news/activism"...and the "activism" part has been sorely neglected..and instead "complaining" has taken root.

I think this is what needs to happen...activisim within the party...Mehlman and anyone else we can think of..and work as hard as our troops are for the future of our country.

The poll is worded just like it came out of D.U.. I can't believe anyone would participate in a poll worded as slanted and unreal as one that could be found in the Washington Times.

Find a conservative candidate and he will be voted for, but to assume that voting Republican means you have automatically voted conservative just doesn't make sense anymore. The irreparable damage both parties have inflicted on what's left of this nation state is staggering.

The way I think is that an elected official has to earn my vote. I refuse to vote for some who is not conservative. Voting for a rino because they are not as liberal as the rats is like thank someone for hitting you with their fist instead of a bat. I will only vote for conservatives.

Oh, I agree---I didn't mean that Clinton was the ONLY reason, or the first.

Jimmy Carter's handling of Iran, I also think was the first, then when Reagan didn't fight back in Lebanon..

Some have said...and I tend to agree...that Vietnam was event that gave the Islamofascists the proof they needed, that the USA could be defeated.
