Current Poll - 13% of members will turn it over to the rats????

Posted on 05/06/2006 9:51:50 AM PDT by Sonora

Current poll:

"A time for choosing: It appears that a significant number of our members are so disgusted with the GOP's failure to secure our borders against illegal aliens that they are willing to risk all by voting them out of office, even if it means Pelosi, Reid, Hillary, et al, are allowed to take charge. Is this the best course of action or should we be working harder than ever to hold the line and actually try to make a difference by getting more constitutionally-minded conservatives elected? Are you willing to give it all up or are you more determined than ever to keep the Marxists out of power?" _____

So far, 13% of members and 18%+ of participants in this poll say - turn it over to the rats. What's with that? I cannot believe that 13% of those posting here are so stupid or angry with what is happening that they would turn to the rats for the way back to perfect. Now, 13% will result in a winning vote, in a lot of cases.

Anyway, I guess that there is no compromising for some people - just dig a hole and live there while the rats are in charge. I'm so disappointed.

Howard Dean, Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi thank you,..

I think they will be thanking a foolish GOP instead.

AL you posted: "It is complete foolishness to think that primaries can remove incumbents. There is only one way to get conservatives back in charge - and that is to fire Republicans! "

Become a stealth party.

Ignore current party affiliation

Be issue oriented like it was a referendum.

Enlist non-voters and sympathetic voters from all parties.

Register as independent. Vote in both primaries.

Vote AGAINST targeted encumbents.

Vote for the best candidate in the general.

:)Easy Does It:)

My post may have misled you but, as a realist, I do not vote for Democrats no matter how conservative they say they are. A conservative in the Democratic Party is as effective as an entrepreneur in the Teamsters. And too I see the Democratic Party as an enemy of freedom and our nation. It would be very bad if they regain power.

Although I may agree with some third party platforms, I also do not vote for them because they are a pipe dream as a majority in today's political world. Maybe when individual third party members prove themselves on the Congressional stage, their Party may win my vote.

Allowing the Democrats a term in office would force the Republicans to look back to what got them elected and realize they have to FOLLOW THROUGH on their promises! I'll not vote Democrat but will give my vote to some Conservative group that will show the GIP (err GOP) votes they can get back if they will. .... Disgusted Republican.

You would vote for John McCain before you vote for Zell Miller?

Not sure where I implied anything of the sort. I'm working to change the Republican party by being very active in working to remove those Republicans who have abandoned conservative principles. This will allow me to work even harder for true conservatives in 08!

In that case, I misunderstood what you meant.

It is indeed useless to use the primary system to change the character of a Party if you just wait to pull a lever on Election Day.

For success, long before November, the grassroots needs to be banging the drums to bring the illegal immigration issue to the front burner and raising money for a war chest to fight the Republican primary battles. If the incumbent sees the light, so much the better. If the incumbent wants to go against a 70%+ poll issue, then you go straight for his jugular.

If it is now too late for such an effort for 2006 elections, then it is certainly not too late for the 2008 elections.

The reality is these people who seem unwilling to give an inch on the notion that good people cannot come to differing conclusions on how best to handle this 40 year in the making immigration problem ANYTHING is beyond me.

"Maybe you should be more disappointed with the performance of the Republican party!"
Republicans need to read this advice daily.

"The current Republican congress will never support the conservative cause; to re-elect them would only reward them and validate their strategy. To think they will return to conservative government is fallacy."

Actually it's a matter of Conservatives being thrown the crumbs of appeasement as the nation is being sold out from under us.

So we get pieces of the Conservative cause and are expected to sell out on the rest. Of course the ones President Bush and the CINO's sells out on are also critical issues.

Then you hear the surprise and "disappointment" when Conservatives turn there backs on the Republican Party.

They will never be able to figure it out because in their world there is no cause that can not be compromised.

"There is only one way to get conservatives back in charge - and that is to fire Republicans!"

I would agree that we should fire all Republicans that do not support the Conservative cause, we do have some good ones up there.

You have to vote for the best person running -- or not being satisfied, run yourself. The choice is not between a perfect idea of a "messiah," but the best person willing to run -- and that should always include you, as an option.

So the choice of the best person running is the best person running, and not whether they live up to our expectations of how anyone -- or everyone ought to think, act, and be -- for our own benefit. They have a right to their lives and opinions too.

Only in a very broad, general sense does the party affiliation aid in this selection process -- because one is aware of their sentiments and influences. But in the end, you're voting for a person who will take in all the information, digest, assimilate, integrate, and synthesize his own unique views -- as their job, so everybody else can go on and do their own job, except for those in the media who think they ought to run the world and are entitled to control and manipulate everybody else's opinions.

"There are two kinds of people who say they'd vote 'Rat."

You forget those of us who will not vote for a 'RAT ever, but do not intend to vote for liars calling themselves Republicans either. I'll vote or not vote only if i can find someone worth voting FOR.

There are a little over 15,000 men in an army division. We've got that many coming in every two days or so now.

Where are the numbers suggesting this? Curious?

The reality is we have between 10 and 15 million illegals in this Country today (by the best estimates I've seen from sources I trust). Now R. Reagan passed an amnesty bill in 1986 - Thus we are 20 years out from that -

By your numbers above we would have well over 40 million illegals if 15,000 were crossing our borders every couple days! - That just isn't reality.

Additionally a sizable portion of these "illegals" came here on workers-permits and simply never returned back (wrongly so! granted.). But they came here legally in the sense that they received workers permits...and then broke the law after the fact by not returning back - Point this portion again doesn't fall into a category that simply under the dark of night infiltrated our country. Because they came via workers permit and have simply never returned back.

So, no, just by the numbers you mention I have a hard time buying 15,000 are illegally crossing our borders every couple days.

The reality is this is 20-40 year in the making problem (depending on which way you want to look at it) and that those on the right who seem incapable of understanding that good people can come to differing conclusions on which solutions will be best in correcting this situation is beyond me.

Furthermore to want to stick a knife in the back of our soldiers who are off fighting is plain wrong! (by giving them a Democrat majority in Congress...and Democrat party that we know is anti-military, anti-success in the WOT).

I didn't vote on this because I think the answers were bias.

If you hit vote for republicans, it implies everything is ok.
If you hit not vote or any other you are allowing the dems to win making yourself look like a fool.

The best answer for that question would have been 'pass on this question.'

The Dems would work to ensure that we would NEVER win another election.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner!

The very first thing the Democrats are going to do is dismantle the Electoral College.

If the DNC regains power, we won't see Republican control of ANYTHING in our lifetime.
