Indeed.Well said.. We will have to leave him to Heaven ultimately..

My only solace would be if we never hear a word he says again..

I will be using my remote mute button a lot while the libs use this as a platform to slam the administration...the death penalty, etc.

Hi Peach. I'm late to the thread because I'm at work. This verdict sucks big time. It's a total insult to the concept of justice.

As hard and even a little bitter as it sounds, I sometimes think we, as a people, deserve what we get when we can't even figure out that true justice is also true compassion. True justice in this case is the death penalty for reasons too numerous to list here.

BTW, same thing happened with the terrorists in the first World Trade Center bombing. Life in prison. That was several years before 9/11/01, but sparing the lives of the terrorists in the first case didn't make the Islamofacists hate us any less. They went right on killing Americans around the world until they pulled off the four hijackings, brought the towers down, hit the Pentagon and nearly hit the Capitol or White House.

Someday the Islamofacists will succeed in pulling off even bigger attacks. Sparing Moussaui's life will not spare us.

We are not quite there yet, he gets at least one more chance to speak at his sentencing.

Why? Because he doesn't hold that power. That is for a jury wether it be of civilians or a military tribunal.

The President absolutely has that power. The US Supreme Court in ex parte Quirin approved the use of military tribunals, but also ruled that they were not necessary.

The tribunal proceedings in 1942 were not a trial of any sort. They were not conducted according to the rules for courts martial.

The sole function of the tribunal was to affirm that the individuals to be executed were in fact Germans out of uniform and behind our lines.

In the ZM case, such fact finding was unnecessary.

George W. Bush could absolutely have ordered ZM's execution at any time after 9:03 AM on 9/11/01, solely on his own authority.

That he did not do so is shameful.

A shame that Brit doesn't replace Stuttering Mort, who wastes most of the panel's debate time trying to get out just 2 sentences.

You know that if this turd got the DP, he would have had endless appeals for the next 20 years, all at taxpayer expense. I admit he deserved the DP, but I am not going to lose any sleep over this turd's verdict.

This cat should have been executed to show the world how serious this nation is about deleting terrorism, and appeasement for it, from the equation of life on this planet in 2006 and beyond.

I agree. He should be pushing up daisey's. IIRC, people in other countries call our prisons club meds. Terrorist have nothing to fear now. If they get caught, they'll spend the rest of their days with three hots and a cot.

We can hope that he will become the prison bitch.

You DO know that the Constitution has a prohibition against cruel and inhuman punishment.

Hi, Wolfstar. I've posted several times on this thread how Ramzi Yousef, mastermind of the 1993 WTC bombing, is incarcerated in the federal prison in Colorado and has continued to correspond with jihadists from around the world.

That Moussaui will be in the same prison as Yousef is very disturbing to me. Justice would be protecting us and society from his brand of jihad.

We've lost our way in this country, Wolfstar. Big time. And I agree with you that if we're so weak as a people that we can't figure out what justice is, then whatever happens is to some extent our fault.

Yes...you watch, now this will be used as precedent for all of the terrorists at Gitmo...and after seeing the penalty, they are probably high-fiving all over the world.

An American jury won't execute the worst of the worst, who mocked the victims' families and wished us all dead. We are finished.

You don't get it. He wanted to be executed. Being killed by the infidels would have made him a martyr under the rules of Islam. He would have been glorified along with the other 19 hijackers (called "The Magnificent 19" in the Arab world).

Now he's just another bum

He can look forward to year after year of prison food, and the company of a bunch of other felons. Until he dies of natural causes. Which will mean he DOESN'T get the 72 virgins.

What I would love to see would be for him to be assigned to a cell block where he would be the only non-white in a section full of bad-ass bikers. And I would want to get the word to the bikers that he was not to ever be killed. Just made to go thru every waking hour with the desire to die.

"America, you lost. I won," Moussaoui said, clapping his hands as he was led out of the courtroom after the verdict was read.

I at first thought ZM wanted to be executed and to die a martyr, and I would have had no problem with that, but now I question whether he did want to die, re his comments that he won, and we lost.

I do like your scenario with the bikers!

Hey, I have strongly and consistently supported the DP over the years and favoted extending it to include rapists, kidnappers and child molesters. On the other hand, I've seen a lot of juries. They aren't computers....you can't predict their behavior and it is inherently inconsistent. At least this dude will never be considered for parole.

Hello,

Nice to meet you too. This week has been (IMHO) a huge wake up call to the true patriots of our nation. Many are on the right, quite a few on the left (at least they think they are on the left) and in the mushy middle. We are running out of time, there is no doubt. It is vitally important that we address these issues now, and we may have to accept missing a few days from work to do so.

Glad to be here, MOgirl

No matter what the verdict was this whack job would have tried to spin the verdict into a defeat for the USA.
