This should be a list of who is planning to close their business on Monday, May 1 in response of the Great American Boycott. We should compile it and boycott them ourselves if possible!
Remember to go shopping or work overtime on May 1!
What a joke. A day without Mexicans... Oops I mean illegal immigrants is a GREAT day in California, as anyone Southern Californian can tell you. Took me 25 minutes or so to get to work today at speeds of up to 80 MPH. With illegals on the road the same drive takes an hour.
I can't believe no one is talking about what a great day this is. Anyone in SoCal could tell you it's FANTASTIC!
I have a feeling that most Freepers won't feel driven away from meat products completely in order to boycott successfully; this doesn't seem like an inherently vegetarian group. :)

Attention All:
Funny all but one FNC email addy's went through
heartland@FOXNEWS.COM
The rest were Failed delivery! Several!
That's what I want to hear too! Somebody out there must have a pair!
Whats up with FNC email addy's?!
We used to get raids at the plant I worked at...
They made sure to call a month in advance to schedule the "raid". When the 4-5 Migra folks showed up they drank coffee with management for an hour and then left...maybe once a year this would happen.
Frankly everyone is in on it. Do you really think Clinton would hammer Tyson Foods, or Bush would hammer Cargill? This is big business and big donations to "friendly" politicians.
They like commie holidays so it isn't surprising.
I'll be dropping another 800 later this afternoon on a plane ticket.
And to top it all off, I opened a new line of credit this morning. So there.
"The Big 4 meat companies produce and distribute over 90% of the meat this nation consumes. They will sell different labels based on quality and location. If you've ever wondered why everything tastes the same, it's because it is the same!
"
Very true. And illegal alien workers are in every aspect of food production, from working in the fields to bussing your plates at your favorite restaurant. It's not just meat, but virtually every food product you buy is touched somehow by illegals.
The impact of illegal aliens is unrecognized by most people. But, if you open your eyes, you'll see it everywhere. The food industry. The hospitality industry. Transportation. Construction. If everyone actually looked at the faceless people who are doing work around you, they'd see them all around, at least in the Southwest, but it's spreading to the entire nation.
I have not bought a Tyson food product since Clinton became president.
You'd have to go to http://www.coors.com to see what we sell. I just make the malt here that goes into all of the products. And there's a LOT of 'em.
the same way they were told change flags, they were told wear white tees...
Sister was leaving downtown at noon and reported the same thing
This is a slight tangent of the actual topic, but judging by attendance at my wife's school, the protests and boycotts aren't getting full participation by any stretch of the imagination.
My wife teaches ESL in a small Texas town and most of her kids threatened to not show up. However, most of her kids were in attendance today. Even one of the noisier ones who is working on his green card.
Overall, school attendance was low enough to put the administrators in a bad mood, but nothing like the scenarios that were imagined.
Most of the immigrants, illegal or legal, that I know are just too damn busy working for nonsense like this. I think most of the parents in my wife's school district fall into this category as well.
Of note, a colleague has informed me that one of the Quizno's locations in Washington DC has closed today in support of the rallies.
I don't think that's why
side note, I believe it is important we distinguish between businesses who voluntary close, businesses who close because they hire illegals and businesses who are forced to close who don't hire illegals but their workforce doesn't show up.. The latter we shouldn't 'punish'.
How can we tell the difference?
hehe, yours truly included. I cut way back on meat (having worked in the industry does that to ya) but I refuse to live on carrots and lettuce.
In some towns you can still buy locally produced beef, etc, but it's getting harder. In most places the meat in all of your grocery stores comes from the same 3-4 plants in the midwest. It's cut by illegals and a few Americans and then it's trucked halfway across the country.
Given the economies of scale, this system has replaced the old local producer-local consumer market.
Meaning you never have eaten at McDonald's. Tyson supplies all their meats.
Why should any business close voluntarily? If they close voluntarily in my opinion they are stating they support the illegals.
