Posted on 04/30/2006 9:38:02 PM PDT by Heartofsong83
This should be a list of who is planning to close their business on Monday, May 1 in response of the Great American Boycott. We should compile it and boycott them ourselves if possible!
Remember to go shopping or work overtime on May 1!

As long as remembered, May Day was about communists, unions and anciently, the act of deflowering :)

I just went to the Target store next door, the one where most of the signs are in English and Spanish. The usual number of Hispanic employees were there, as well as Hispanic shoppers. The cleaning crew here is working normally. No trace of a boycott here in illegal alien heaven.

That picture has absolutely nothing to do with his position on border security.
But it is enough to get me off this previously productive thread. I knew it would come to this nonsense....
Off to deal with the issue.

Immigrant issue worries businesses Defend need for cheap labor; want system adjusted for foreigners
Former Colorado governor Dick Lamm, the head of the University of Denver's Institute for Public Policy Studies and the chairman of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, said agricultural employers came to him complaining about the crackdown when he was governor.
Lamm said that he believed the industry's arguments at the time and supported Reagan's amnesty for undocumented workers as a way to relieve pressure and get the border under control. Now, he said he wouldn't support that again: Pressure not to enforce border security and employment laws won out and illegal immigration problems got worse, not better.
Lamm places a large share of the blame on American businesses.

A little off topic here and I haven't been keeping up with the boycott threads so it may have already been brought up, but today is the biggest shopping day of the month, boycott or not. The SSI and SS and welfare checks come today so that should make things very interesting.

I was shopping this weekend and was ready to buy some country-style pork ribs. But after looking at the package once again which said "Tyson" I put it right back and loudly stated that "Tyson supports illegal immigrants and I will not buy anything from them". Hope a few of the shoppers around me will do the same.

Mine came on Friday, the usual day, so I can't tell what they're doing today.

I saw that too (Re Springfield) We are going to go into places after today and ask if they were open on Monday. If they say no then we will turn around and walk out. That way they know exactly how the boycott affected them. They wouldn't miss us if we never went back - only if we show up and then leave.
Anyone hearing Peter King on FNC?
He is speaking for us
Also she said many emails are coming in mad
That when we find out which businesses have let them off today THOSE are businesses we will no longer do business with!
Lonewacko keeps track of the who's who behind the boycott.

I was just kidding. Among Texans (especially Houstonians), Houston is the most often dumped on city, deserved or not. Hence, -nobody- ever
says they're actually voluntarily going to Houston!
Also among Texans, Houston is still considered a better place to live than most of the rest of the country! ;-P
