A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest! We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
received this in my email June 10th, the author is unknown. I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

What flavour iced tea would you put milk in, I have put sugar in iced tea before but never thought of milk.
Your list of favourites do not seem that different from mine apart from spaghetti, I like spaghetti bolognaise occasionally but not a favourite. I also occasionally like spaghetti hoops (rings) on toast.

"...What flavour iced tea would you put milk in..."
I put cream in...& my fave flavor to do so in is
peach or tropical flavor tea...
And as far as me liking spaghetti
there are things I leave out of the sauce
onions and peppers...Yuck! Not in my sauce
or I'll not eat it. That would make me sick.
Mmmm spaghetti rings on toast sound good!
I'll have to try that.
Spaghetti rings are like Spagettio's correct?
(Wee pasta rings in tomato sauce from a can...)

Our volley was
snugs...Thanks!
To: Purple Mountains Maj
Yes you are correct the small ones in a can with tomato sauce.
Children in Britain love them on toast as they do baked beans in tomato sauce on toast.
HEINZE MEANZ BEANZ the slogan of my childhood.

I Actually Got Goosebumps Reading your Post, my Lady, and I Thanked our Lord for the Wonderous Way He Came to you and your Future Husband on that Incredible Day! I Loved this Part the Most,
"...lifting our sins and then infusing us with divine peace and forgiveness." How Gracious and So Very Kind He is!
I've Never Shared this Story with Anyone but my Family, but when I was About 12 Years Old, I had a Certain Physical Problem, (I can't Say what it is, because it is So Embarassing!) and I Began to Beg our Lord to Remove it. What is Awesome is that my Family and I did not Even Belong to our Savior as Yet, (we were 'Unsaved') and All I Mainly Knew of our Master was His Name, that Sweet Name of Jesus. But I just Adressed Him as 'God' whenever I would Beg for my Ailment to Be Taken Away.
My Lady, Within a Few Days, my Physical Condition Began to Lift; it became Less and Less, and then it was Suddenly Gone, and hasn't Returned Since!
I have Other Physical Ailments Now-a-Days, and a Couple that are Painful, so I'm not of the "Name it and Claim it" Beliefs; and I have Never had Anything Like That Happen Since, but I Wanted to Post it Here So I could Join you, Dear Maggie, in Glorifying our Lord for the Sovereign, Unexpected, Blessed Movements of His Spirit of Grace! A Young Girl, me, who Knew Very Little About our God, was Shown Great and Undeserved Mercy by a Great and Merciful God!
I'm not Good at Putting my Thoughts into Words, but I Wanted to Praise our Father in my Feeble Way, and Exalt the Name of His Dear Son!
To: Kitty Mittens; LadyX
Amazing Grace..How grateful I am!
I don't think God judges how eloquent our words are..only our hearts. It is good to "see" you, Kitty Mittens. Prayers that you may be more comfortable in the coming weeks.

"I'm not Good at Putting my Thoughts into Words, but I Wanted to Praise our Father in my Feeble Way, and Exalt the Name of His Dear Son!" On the contrary, Miss Kitty, you are one of our most sincere and elequent prayer warriors!
We so enjoy the sweetness of your spirit, as God surely does, and literally sit up straighter and *light up* with delight as you kick into gear..:))
I, for one, see you as one of these,
diligently following The Great Shepherd:

It didn't take very long to load, and now I'll be humming it when I drift off to sleep...
When you've experienced such Enormous Love,
nothing can seriously impede your steps toward Him.
Yes - you'll stub your toe now and then, but can keep on striding,
confident of where you are going, and toward Whom.
