Mexico better be careful what it wishes for. If there's an amnesty and another wave of "family unification", a big chunk of their population will come here and for those families there won't be any reason to send money to Mexico.

There is ALWAYS more family in Mexico. The only way to put a dent in it is to:
1. Build the WALL!
2. Deport illegals when they show up. No police searches are necessary, they show up in hospitals, schools, are stopped for driving without licenses or insurance.
3. Go after companies who hire the illegals with heavy fines, and perhaps prison terms to repeat offenders.
4. Require proof of legal status before ANY public services are delivered.

To handle the required labor in the US a legal fast track green card should be issued AFTER a background check is performed. Priority should be given to those families who have children who are US citizens who's parents have been deported. No minor child would choose to be separated from their parents if they are deported. In these cases the families could be back on a legal basis in 2-3 months. Immigration could set realistic numbers of workers who would be allowed to come to the US each year.

THINK ANYONE HAS THE GUTS TO DO THIS?

Naming their kids Johnny and Leslie?

Pretty soon they'll start teaching them English in school.

Think anyone has the guts to do this?

The Social Security Administration collects annually $6 or $7 billion in contributions to nonexistent accounts. That is to say, there are a whole bunch of people out there that have made up random Social Security numbers which are not legally associated with any living person.

Now it would be real easy to track these back to the place of employment and find the illegal immigrant. But that would mean losing $6 or $7 billion in Social Security surpluses each year which are free and clear of any future retirement benefits to the worker.

Follow the money. It is simply more convenient to the Federal government to keep collecting the money and not ask any questions.

I would suspect that education their children costs more than the 6-7 billion you quote. Health Care is another matter that is coming out of our pockets. I have nothing against people coming to America to work as long as there is a process in place to do it legally. However the endless cycle of granting immunity to the current wave of illegals, that only encourages more to enter the country in the next wave. America is a country, not a mall where folks just wander in.

Ever thought of running for elected office?

Perhaps you should consider such.

I would be shot! Most Freepers are to the right of the mainstream (the D's and the R's). I just believe that you can achieve border control, and bring in more labor without shooting the goose. Everyone is just so afraid of offending someone.

Vicente could become a Wal-Mart greeter after his term as president ends.

Sorry, I've got dibs on him cleaning up the dog poop and then mowing my lawn.

wont happen..

Mexican birth rates are plummeting!!

In 1970 Mexico had a fertiltiy rate of 7.0
In 1980, it was 5.0
Today it is 2.45 (lower than the US fertiltiy ratre in 1970)
Mexico's fertiltiy rate will fall below replacement by 2020.

We are overrun with illegals now becasue they were born at a time of an extremely high birth rate.

Mexican immigration ceases by 2025 and might actually reverse itself.

the predictions of an america 50% white, 35% hispanic and 15% black/asian isnt going to happen any more than our ancerstors 100 years ago thought that USA would end up an Italian/Irish Catholic county.

If Mexicos birth rate is 1/2 today what it was in 1980, there is a 100% chance that mexico labor force in 20 years will be growing at less than 50% of todays labor force growth.

No trend lasts forever. Neither will this one.

The 6-7 billion is only the tip of the iceberg. It only represents those Social Security numbers that have no name attached. The Dallas-Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports one child's social security number was used 742 times by workers in 42 states. That's one potential beneficiary and 742 salaries paying into the system.

Banks too, have found that illegal immigrants have a greater sense of community that leads to lower mortgage default rates. They are finding ways to process mortgages and put the immigrants in homes where they also pay property taxes.

All those immigrants clamoring for housing have pushed up home prices to record levels.

Syriacus: Has anyone suggested, yet, that we annex Mexico?

Vince Ferrer: Well, I have for a couple of years now, but if you mean by someone important, then no.

My husband has told me, several times, that the US should annex Mexico. I'm not sure how serious he is, but I have to admit you two have a fresh way of looking at the problem. Sometimes sticky problems are solved after people look at them from a new point of view.

When I advocate it, I am both serious and not serious at the same time. In my not serious mode, it is a negotiating position in the immigration debate that invalidates a lot of their arguments. "Americans are racist, Americans are xenophobic, etc..." Ok, well, we'll take ALL of you then, but on our terms, not yours.

In my serious side, it is because we practically are a merged, interdependent state, but the unofficial status of the union is only good for the corrupt who can profit from the status quo. Breaking the status quo in a way that is on our terms and lifts them up to our level would be a good solution. And adding 50% to our population and territory is good for the future in dealing with China and India.

This is the Mexican Invasion of the USA. Look at Mexico, Central America and South America and you will see what our country will be like in 10 years. The anarchist like LA RAZA AND REQUONQISTA will take over the USA and turn it into a 3rd world country. Look at Hugo Chavez and you will see what our future government will be!

Far
didn't travel too far
To start a home
Take back the Lone Star...
Free
Only want stuff for free
They walk across
Nine months pregnant and scream...

They don't need no boats or planes...
They're coming to America!
Muslims take Mexican names
They're coming to America!

Home... Aztlan don't seem far away
They sent back $10 mil today!
From the land of net porn
From the land of net porn...

Home, if it was such a special place
And this country's such a disgrace?
You are free to go home
You are free to go home

Everywhere around the world
They're coming to America
Very angry boys and girls!
They're coming to America!

Got a dream to take welfare!
They're coming to America
TB and mumps are everywhere!
They're coming to America

They're coming to Amexica!
They're coming to Amexica!
They're coming to Amexica!

We pay!, We pay!, we pay!, we pay!, we pay!,

My country once was free

Very interesting thoughts about annexing Mexico, Vince Ferrer. I can see you have considered the topic well.

I have only done a tiny bit of thinking about it...only up to the point of asking "How many states would Mexico be carved into?
