"Wear Red" Friday

You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Strange Places

Read:
Psalm 40:1-8

Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish's belly. —Jonah 2:1

Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 14-15; Luke 17:1-19

Walking past my barn one day, I heard a frantic chirping inside, and upon investigation I found a bluejay beating its wings against the glass pane of the window. Had it not cried and squawked, I would not have heard it. But its plaintive note prompted me to open the door wide and the jay flew out to liberty.

That bluejay was in a strange place for a bird; and Jonah found himself in a strange place for a human being. Because of his disobedience, Jonah was cast into the sea, swallowed by a sea monster and trapped in its belly. Although it was Jonah's own fault that he was there, God was also there to hear his prayer. And when he confessed, God delivered him.

God's children sometimes get themselves into some strange places and unhappy circumstances because of their folly. Are you in a strange place today? Are you out of fellowship with the Lord, defeated, unhappy? Then cry out to God, confess your sin, and be restored by His abundant mercy (1 John 1:9). God is waiting to hear your faintest cry and accept your repentance.

Maybe through your own foolish choices you're in a strange place today—but He is with you and waiting to hear your cry. Don't wait another day. —M. R. De Haan, M.D.

Good morning Rus. Thank you for this devotional. I have printed it out to give to a girl that I am meeting with on Tues. She broke into our church and is to go to trial in May. It will be our church's decision as to whether she is charged with a misdemeaner or a felony. Her lawyer says she is getting her life together. I asked to speak with her so that I can get a feel for where she is mentally and emotionally. I'm all for giving people a second chance, but sometimes tough love is needed. I believe that I can intuit who she is. Intuition about people is a gift that the Lord has given me. I'm not often wrong.

Hello Dolly, I use Photo Explosion as recommended by Billie and yes you can save it in workable format but I rarely do that but you can if you wish.

Never used picture it what are its main features?

I think that the last few years without picking up a newspaper and seeing some sort of scandal involving her children has made the Queen a lot more relaxed.

Whatever we think of it Prince Charles is now married to Camilla and seems happy, Prince William obviously thinks the world of Camilla whenever you see them together they always seems to be talking and smiling. So that is one son happy and settled and his sons are now making their way in the world Harry having graduated from Sandhurst and William will shortly. Rumour has it Harry will probably go to Afghanistan or Iraq if his unit are assigned there. What will happen with William seems to be in the melting pot but Prince Andrew feels that if his unit is picked to go William will go.

Princess Ann is now remarried and seems settled, and younger son Edward is married with a young child so all in all things seem a lot better for the Royal family. Only Andrew of her children does not have a partner or if he does we are not aware of her. He served his country well with 22 years in the Royal Navy including service helicopter pilot during the Falklands War.

On hats the Queen actually does not really like them but protocol says she must wear them for many events.

A favor to ask of our Finest Friends.....

Just browsed the thread and such fantastic graphics have been posted!

Many of our regulars (and even some who are not, but visit occasionally) are still on dialups, and graphics that are huge in bytes or in physical size take forever to load. Please try to keep that in mind when you are posting graphics.

By the same token, a single comment post with four, five, six or more graphics in it is also very hard to open for some, even if none of those graphics is extremely large. Collages are fun, but they can also take a long time to open if they are over 100000 bytes.

As hostesses of the threads, most of us try to keep individual graphics compressed to *around* 60000 bytes or less, simply because most of our opening posts have many graphics in them.

For those who don't know, we prepare our threads for an 800 x 600 screen resolution so all of our graphics and tables are well under 800 pixels wide so no one should have a scroll bar at the bottom when they open The Finest.
