ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Two relatives of Sept. 11 victims testified for the defense Wednesday in Zacarias Moussaouis death-penalty sentencing trial. One told the jury her family does not want to get caught in a whirlpool of sadness and anger.
Medical sociologist Marilynn Rosenthal, whose son Josh was killed at the World Trade Center, said her family feels strongly something good has to come out of what happened and family members have endowed an annual lecture on 9/11 at the University of Michigan, where she teaches.
Robin Theurkauf, whose husband, Tom, died in the South Tower, also testified that the Bible attempts to explain that we are all sinners, all broken people, but all children of God and loved by God.
Several members of the jury, which heard heart-rending tales during the prosecution case from almost four dozen victims and their relatives, leaned forward when they realized relatives were there to testify on behalf of the team trying to save the 37-year-old Frenchman from execution.

With all do respect Marilynn, might I respectfully ask, what?
'Forgiveness' can be a way of pretending that a problem no longer exists.
Well meaning fools.
i agree... prosecution of those at fault would be something good...
The only "good" that came from 9-11 is that we finally got somewhat serious about putting the hurt on the Islamofascists around the world who have been attacking us for decades. Speaking of which, we need to put the ultimate hurt on Moussaoui.
Which would explain your involvement in the trial how?
Exactly - the worst thing we can do is look more wussy.

I thought the Kickin' A&& and Takin' Names part has been pretty good.
Sounds like a good reason to execute.
He would kill both of them and laugh while doing it.
20 dead Jihadies instead of 19? That would be good.
The only options, other than the death penalty, are to let him go, in which case he'll just try to kill more infidels, or to pay his room and board for the rest of his life. I'd rather buy more bullets, beans, and bombs.
And this is the best "something good" she could come up with? I can think of a lot of orphans/widows/widowers/parents/siblings etc. that she could reach out and help. But, no, that wouldn't really get her in the news like helping out the criminal now would it?
And do these people think about the danger if someone is kidnapped and demands are made that Moussoui be released in exchange for the innocent person kidnapped.
We do not deal with terrorists. Ever.
Which is why this murdering scum must be put to death.
Part of me wants to do that, but another part wants to lock him in solitary out in Colorado's Supermax and throw away the keys. He, Ramzi Yousef, and Abdel Rahman can tap out Morse code to each other about how much they hate America for the rest of their lives.
He seems to want to be executed, why give him what he wants? Let him die, old and broken, in a 4'-6' cell.
You'd ask for mercy because you had mercy for the murderer?
