Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site

Posted on 04/11/2006 3:33:35 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Just a reminder: Free Republic is a conservative site. We fight for conservative principles, values and causes. We defend the Constitution. We defend our borders. We defend our God-given rights. We are opposed to the liberal/socialist/Marxist agenda for America. We do not willingly give up ground to the Marxists.

It's true that the illegal immigration issue is very discouraging, and I don't know if anyone has a solution that will appeal to conservatives and yet manage to get by Democrat obstructionism, ie, a filibuster, but I don't see that as any reason to give up everything. We should not allow it to rip us apart and destroy the movement. We fight on.

We hold the majority. We continue working as hard as we possibly can to elect as many conservatives as we possibly can. We build a conservative majority that can overcome the Democrats and the RINOs. We do not willingly give up any seats to Democrats. We add seats. Preferably, conservative seats.

I would also like to remind everyone, that Free Republic does not condone racism and does not advocate violence. We exercise our first amendment rights to free speech and peaceable assembly. We do not condemn people because of their race, religion, ethnicity, skin color, etc. We do not advocate civil war, anarchy, or an overthrow of the government. We do not advocate shooting illegals or mining the borders. We do not appreciate people coming across our borders illegally, but as conservatives, we do not issue racial epithets or threaten them with violence or bodily harm.

And, yes, we are at war. And we do support our troops and their mission. We also respect our commander-in-chief and are mindful that when people disrespect him, it hurts troop morale. We do not appreciate the mainstream media's attempts to destroy America's will to fight and we do not do anything to assist the Democrats and their accomplices in the media in their treasonous mission of undermining the war effort by providing aid and comfort to the enemy.

And despite our dissatisfaction and disappointments in regards to the illegal immigration issue, we recognize that it is not the last issue on earth and there are plenty of other reasons not to allow the Marxist Democrats to retake power.

I'll list a few issues (by no means and exhaustive list) that will be adversely affected by Marxist/Democrats in power:

Islamofascism/terrorism
National Security/Defense
The United Nations (as in their control over us)
The Supreme Court
The federal judiciary
The legislative agenda
The right to life
Marriage between one man, one woman
The family
Education
Health care
Private property
Taxation
Oil/energy
The right to keep and bear arms
The right to freedom of religion
The right to self-governance
All of our God-given rights
The Constitution
The Republic
Liberty itself

Do not get so discouraged that we give it all up. It could take generations to get it back. If ever.

"Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity" is our duty.

"Bill Clinton was in for 8 long years thanks to the Ross Perot voters."

No, BC was in 8 long years because the Republicans don't know how to win votes.

But now I don't know the party any more.

I'll second that!

I agree completely about it not being the end if it is not solved this year or even during Bush's term. In fact I would prefer that it not be solved if it means the solution is that they are granted any type of amnesty and a shot at becoming citizens.

That being said I think it would send a message to the GOP to pick one traitorous RINO senator (DeWine) and kick his butt out of office while maintaining the majority.

I realize that doesn't support your position but he has hurt the party far more than he's helped it in my opinion.

People can say what they want about McCain but the guy is at least honest about what he is. DeWine is just the opposite.

Ohio's senior senator has gone rogue.

Oh and just for the record book I believe that Perot regrets "causing" eight years of Clinton...

For the record, what you believe and what Perot said are two different things entirely. Truthfully speaking, Perot no longer identifies himself as a part of the Reform Party, which he himself created. The Reformers have gone their separate ways to create the America First party (Buchananites), and a hodge podge of leftist cretins and disenchanted goofballs on the right hitched wagons with Nader.

How much does that steel fence cost per foot anyway?

I'll list a few issues (by no means and exhaustive list) that will be adversely affected by Marxist/Democrats in power:

I would offer one more:
Defense of our nation against invasion by foreign powers.
Specifically the Communist invasion by Mexico,
which the current administration is doing nothing about.

There are currently 11 million of these foreign invaders
in our nation and the Bush Administration seems ineffective
either by ineptness or design.

<<< How much does that steel fence cost per foot anyway?>>>

If YOU build it?
Or if the Government does?

Those are 2 VERY different cost analysis!

It is either R's or D's, and we have to pick a party, and try to grab it by the short hairs and steer it back to the right.

That's not done at the Senatorial level. That's done at the dog catcher level. If you want to turn the Republican party (back) into a conservative party get involved in the precinct and start working.

National gets the attention, but local gets the job done.

Shalom.

I'm not in denial,I just look at our world differently from most people.

I see deeper reasons and causes then the political oil on the waters, I see undercurrents of emotion below the surface and I see a time coming when republicans can lose all because they haven't bothered to gage the ebb and flow of the tide of human events.

And when they do it will be because they haven't worked together to conquer the wind and the waves of change.

One or two (DeWine and McCain) gone would be fine by me as long as we can gain other seats to make up for them. But that's one heck of a gamble. Best try for a primary challenge.

Well, gee, thanks. It would be hard to find a more insulting, and semi delusional post on FR. Good job.

Thanks for telling me just what a leech I am.

If you have to remind us we are conservative I think it is to late

I don't know about Jim's motives, but I see that people often confuse Conservative with Libertarian. We have a lot in common, but we are not the same.

Shalom.

whatta ya do?

Shoot it?
