Immigration Rallies Live Thread Day 2
4-10-06 | Danae

Posted on 04/10/2006 8:24:37 AM PDT by Danae

Welcome back all concerned!

Just to clarify, this is a thread discussing both what is happening LIVE across the country as Illegal Immigrants protest their Illegality, and what to do about it. Let's discuss VIABLE options as to what to do about this issue. I have a sneaking suspicion that this "Protest" of American LAW is going to be pretty big. I predict that there is going to be a LOT of pandering to these 11 million or so criminals by our Politicians. I sincerely hope not. To any and all Politicos of all parties, WE the PEOPLE are watching you, and LISTENING to what you are going to say today. 289 million of us LEGAL citizens will see with pristine clarity just WHO in the Political arena is looking out for US, the people who VOTED you into Office in the first place. The biggest question on my mind and perhaps one or two others is: Are you going to protect and serve as you promised and swore to up-hold the Constitution or not? Are you going to up-hold out law or are you going to support the Illegal’s? 298 million to 11 million. You do the math. Let’s roll.

If J F'n Kerry had won, the Republican legislature would have fought him tooth and nail, instead of handing over the goods like they do with our "conservative" President. Sad, isn't it.

You're of course 100% right. The republican congress kept Clinton in check for 6 years and actually forced him to justify spending and government enlargement. In lots of cases, Clinton had to fight them just to keep the congress from shrinking the government.

It is sad what we've become.

I don't agree with your historical assessment. In those cases you had articulate speakers - Reagan and Newt - who could communicate with both the right and the middle. It had more to do with effective communications than previous defeat. Until we have Republicans who can speak and persuade we will continue to have problems.

We should see a big drop in the number of demonstrations for the next 10 days. They will pick up again after the 20th of this month.

If Ford had won in 1976 he would have certainly ran for re-election in 1980. Ford's vice president would have most likely gotten the nomination instead of Reagan in 1984 as his age would have been used against him. Reagan realized that the people wanted to move to the Right and he seized upon it.

Newt, who represented my district, did not appeal to the middle at all - he was very much a lightning rod. The only people that Newt appealed to was the Right. He recognized that the American people wanted to move to the Right and not the Left so he seized the moment.

If we keep putting politicians in power that lie to us and only want to be a little to the right of the socialist democrats then we deserve what we get. Why not hold our elected officials responsible for their actions?

The only thing elected politicians care about is how well they poll in a general election against the OTHER party. His supporters can bitch and moan all they want but as long as he knows he has their undying support against the other party then he doesn't care how much you complain, write emails or leave voicemails.

WASHINGTON TIMES CONFIRMS GUNNY BOB REPORT

Marxist Organization Behind Pro-Illegal-Alien Protests

Enemies of Gunny Bob, of which there are no shortage, didn't like the Gunny reporting for the last two weeks that a fetid assortment of Marxist and socialist organizations are supporting, encouraging and helping to organize the open-border protests of late. And on last night's show, the Gunny again named names, this time revealing International ANSWER's part in the protests, which is linked to the Marxist World Workers Party.

For those of you who thought the Gunny was pulling your leg, there's this confirmation, and the Gunny thanks the Washington Times for confirming his reporting:

http://www.washtimes.com/national/20060410-094710-4817r.htm

If you simply must have the inside scoop first, stay tuned to the Gunny.

I want to make an additional comment as the your above quote makes my point.

Reagan was just as good at public speaking in 1976 as he was in 1980 and he was considered far more electable in 1976 than 1980 because of his age. Even with the things in his favor, he couldn't get past Ford by his was a sitting incumbent. It wasn't until the Democrat-Lite Republican incumbent was out of the way that Reagan got his shot.

That is the whole problem - the Democrat-Lite Repbublican incumbents are mucking up the works - they block anyone better from getting past them.

If a man like Reagan couldn't even beat Ford in 1976 then that shows you the power that sitting incumbents have in the primary process.

Intentionally giving up and hoping to come back to win the day in the future is a strategy for crackpots and losers.

I remember when service sector jobs had many young (school aged) people working them. Now you see adults working these part time low wage positions. How can adults survive on such low wages? How can you have 6 children when, you make $7.00 an hour? And forget the "Americans will not take these jobs" nonsense. I have witnessed employers who will not hire Americans, with Katrina being the latest example of this. They also are quick to suggest that you get gov. "assistance" when you ask for a pay raise. They hire undocumented workers, pay them under the table, and thus pay NO income or social security taxes.
Boycott the businesses that use these tactics. Look before you spend. Add it up. Then decide if that tomaine burger is worth it. We have the power to stop this if we just start thinking before we spend.
Turn off the media news channels that support illegals.
Tell your leaders that you will not vote for them if they continue to support illegal workers. Blame the system, not the immigrant.

"Jeez, we're gonna need more cheap labor!"

in the small, small print of the Kennedy/McCain bill there's prolly a stipulation that, having been soooo unkind to illegal aliens, native borns will have to do the work the 12M former illegals did before they became citizens. It's only fair ;)

Nice strawman - who said anything about intentionally giving up?

Your strategy of giving your unwavering support to a politician no matter what he does to you is no different than battered wife syndrome - the wife isn't happy that her husband abuses her, but she stays because he throws her crumbs every once in a while and he promises that he will do better in the future.

Again, why should a politician care at all what you think if he has your unwavering support no matter what he does? You've just made yourself completely irrelevant.

You did. By intentionally electing a dem that is by definition giving up. It's like allowing another team to purposefully win because you don't like your teammates. Democrats can inflict severe damage in just a few years via entitlements, judges, etc.

No thanks to your twisted non-strategy. You losers stay on the sidelines while the rest of us slog it out.

Jeff...........I have been giving serious thought regarding what you freeped me about a couple of days ago.........your demanding that I not ever post to you because I am a 'kook' and a 'nutcase.'

It doesn't matter much to me if you read this, but it will be on the record.

I am as rational, as emotionally and spiritually grounded, and as intellectually honest as anyone on this forum, and even those with whom I disagree know it. I'm not sure what your reasons are for being afraid of me, but they are certainly not rational.

The bottom line to me, is that you do not have the right to curtail my free speech. You have the right to ignore it, but you do not have the right to tell me not to say it. Not here. Not anywhere.

So, I will not allow myself to be bullied by a boy from Atlanta who doesn't even have the courage to do it out in the open.

I will post to you when I see fit............when I see that you have said something that I disagree with, and I will continue to behave in the responsible and rational manner in which I always have done on this forum.

Your attempts to silence me have failed, and the underhanded manner in which you tried to do it speak far more to your own weakness than it does mine. I will not go out of my way to disagree with you, but when I see a post of yours that has errors in it, I will reply to it as I see fit. What you do in response is up to you........but no more abusive name calling freepmails.

If you have had the decency to read this to the end, thank you.

(Pinging a few of my rational, conservative friends, some of whom I have had disagreements with....... just to put it ON the record).

When you live 40 or 50 to a house, it becomes quite "affordable".

Don't laugh -- those numbers are not hyperbole. A few months ago, they actually busted -- and deported -- that many criminal aliens living under one roof, put there by their employee, who was making out like a bandit.

But, don't go getting your hopes up. Although this area is rife with criminal aliens, and, the newspaper filled with reports of their crimes, this case was the exception. You see, these criminal aliens were employed by the local Chinese restaurant. They were NOT Mexicans. The Mexican criminal aliens continue to get the "three monkey treatment" from "Law 'Enforcement'".

"put there by their employee" should have been "put there by their employER"
