Up to 500,000 marchers converge on downtown (DALLAS, TX)

Peaceful protest pleases chief

At a police security briefing that ended about 3:15 p.m., Dallas police Chief David Kunkle reported that no one had been arrested and no noteworthy offenses had been committed amid the crowd that was widely estimated at 100,000.

Speculation put the crowd at up to 500,000, although police had no comment on that number.

“It’s been a very good day for the city,” Chief Kunkle said. “This is a family-oriented group that’s come here to demonstrate. No one we saw looked like they were planning to cause any problems.”

Chief Kunkle attributed the peaceful nature of the protest to the work of the volunteers and organizers, as well as police efforts to marginalize the small groups of counterprotesters.

“Even I’m surprised about the nature of the crowd. I think the people have been educated to ignore the other protesters,” he said.

Chief Kunkle reiterated his estimate that 550 police and 200 sheriff’s officers were on duty. Although no additional backups were called Sunday, supervisors were asking early shift officers to stay a few hours later, and calling the evening shift workers to arrive early.

Police work around the city would not be affected, he said.

Some counterprotesters retreat

Police told counterprotesters that they could protect them only to a point, and offered to escort them out through an underground parking lot. Six people left with police who were carrying shields and wearing helmets and shin pads.

Miles Walters, 16, a sophomore at Richardson High School, said he was scared when people started throwing water bottles and hunkered under a building for protection. “I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad,” he said. “Because we take pride in our country they hate us and call us racist.”

whatever the answer is, it's the scoop of the year. I'm aware of the usual suspects (lulac, etc..) and they just don't have this kind of muscle, if they did, they would have been flexing it sooner. Look at how much owrk it took for Farakhan to have his "million" man march. Thsi is half a mill and they didn't even break a sweat. The level of organization here is very scarey.

The fact is.... they're illegal!!!!

Wow. Due process has been replaced by the fiat of jdm. Whether it be an allegation of improper documentation, overstaying an agricultural visa, seeking employment with a tourist visa, or the horrific sin (and outright treason) of converting from an educational to a NAFTA status; jdm will adjudicate, convict, and sentence half a million Texans from the confines of his comfy couch. Simply because some number of them committed a civil infraction. When was the last time half of a million people assembled anywhere else in the world, and there was not a riot? God bless America, and God bless Texas.

This is tantamount to a declaration of WAR

No it's not. It really is not.

I still wonder why they can't make it in their own country?

The answer to that question would be the solution to the problem!

Simply because some number of them committed a civil infraction.

Fine. If I commit a misdemeanor crime against you or your family, you'll let it go, right?

Well, they commit violence against us...

American citizens commit violence against American citizens.

I'm not sure of your point.

Hope this statement from the President the other day will clear things up for you.

President's Radio Address

THE PRESIDENT: Good morning. This week, Members of the United States Senate reached a promising bipartisan compromise on comprehensive immigration reform. Unfortunately, this compromise is being blocked by the Senate Democratic leader who has refused to allow Senators to move forward and vote on amendments to this bill. I call on the Senate Minority Leader to end his blocking tactics and allow the Senate to do its work and pass a fair, effective immigration reform bill.

Immigration is an emotional issue and a vitally important one. At its core, immigration is the sign of a confident and successful nation. It says something about our country that people around the world are willing to leave their homes, leave their families, and risk everything to come to America. Their talent, hard work, and love of freedom have helped make America a vibrant, strong Nation. And by reforming our immigration laws to meet the realities of the 21st century, we will ensure that America remains a beacon of liberty for generations to come.

I made clear that a comprehensive immigration reform bill must include three elements:

First, comprehensive immigration reform must secure our borders. Since I took office, we've increased funding for border security by 66 percent, and Federal agents have apprehended and sent home more than 6 million people entering this country illegally, including more than 400,000 with criminal records. To improve security at the border, we're hiring thousands more Border Patrol agents; we're deploying new technologies like infrared cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles to help our agents do their jobs; we're installing physical barriers to entry, like fences in urban areas. We're making good progress, but we have much more work ahead to gain control of our border. I'll continue to work with Congress to strengthen border security, so we can prevent illegal immigrants from crossing our border and make the immigration system more orderly and secure.

Second, comprehensive immigration reform must strengthen the enforcement of our laws in America's interior. Since I took office, we've increased funding for immigration enforcement by 42 percent, increased the number of immigration enforcement agents and criminal investigators, enhanced worksite enforcement, and gone after smugglers, gang members, and human traffickers. A good immigration bill should enhance our ability to stop document fraud and help employers comply with our laws.

Finally, comprehensive immigration reform must include a temporary worker program that relieves pressure on our borders, while rejecting amnesty. A temporary worker program would create a legal way to match willing foreign workers with willing American employers to fill jobs that no American is available to do. By creating a legal channel for those seeking temporary work in America, we would reduce the number of people trying to sneak across the border. This would free up law enforcement officers to focus on criminals, drug dealers, terrorists, and others who mean us harm. A temporary worker program would also improve security by creating tamper-proof identification cards, so we can keep track of every temporary worker who is here on a legal basis and identify those who are not.

A new temporary worker program should not provide amnesty. Granting amnesty would be unfair to those who follow the rules and obey the laws. Amnesty would also be unwise, because it would encourage others to break the law and create new waves of illegal immigration. We must ensure that those who break our laws are not granted an automatic path to citizenship. We should also conduct the debate on immigration reform in a manner worthy of our Nation's best traditions.

To keep the promise of America, we must remain a welcoming society and also enforce the laws that make our freedom possible. As we do, our Nation will draw strength from the diversity of its citizens and unity from their desire to assimilate and become one people. By working together, we can fix our immigration system in a way that protects our country, upholds our laws, and makes our Nation proud.

Thank you for listening.

END

My point is that too many Americans don't care about keeping the scum out of here. Yes, we have too many of our own homegrown criminals. Why do we not enforce our laws and prevent the imported variety to join them?

Deputy Winfield would be alive today if : A) We had a wall or troops to prevent Cruz' entry, OR B) The authorities in Delaware County had turned Cruz over to Immigration.

I'm sick of what I see here. I'm sick of "Para Espanol". Why must you and the Church support the destruction of our nation and our AMERICAN culture?

Our local NBC affiliate just reported briefly on this, and I had a good laugh. The reporter was reading, "...as thousands of demonstraters marched waving American flags..." while the footage showed a sea of Mexican flags--and I could only see one or two American flags! Do they think we're that stupid?

Apparently so.

It reminds me of when the Republican National Conventions would take place where the reporters would continually use the phrase "lilly white convention" to describe it and yet when their own cameras would sweep the floor of the convention, it would show more people of color than there were at the Democrat conventions!

"Then why would anyone pay any attention to a few illegals."

11,000,000 is a big number in any font.

Alex Jones on his radio show has said it's at least 30 million, about 3 times the number given by the "elite media".

You forget we have fought one war with this country and have been invaded by Panco Villa. You are going to find yourself in the minority when the facts are fully exposed on this subject. The persistence being demonstrated is for one ultimate cause. If and I say if National Sovereignty is abridged then all is lost; the United States Of America that you and I depend on will be no more. Do you not realize even now we are the prize up for grabs and are being sold a bill of goods? You need to rethink what you are seeing and choose sides and get prepared to do battle once again!

If you fail to declare something on your W-2, yeah I will let it slide if you do not get caught. If you commit a property crime, or crime of violence; you will be very happy that I choose proper legal recourse. If you fail to comply with city code by not keeping your easement clean and safe, I will not seek for the city to seize your property and evict you. I will pay somebody to clean it up and mow it, and attempt to recover in civil court. People that spout illegal alien as though all are criminal felons, are damaging to your anti-immigration cause. If you could develop a cohesive message around the healthcare issue, anti-immigration could make some inroads. The economic argument fails on current market conditions. The cultural failure to assimilate is based upon hype of isolated incidents. The simple abhorrence of people that look, speak, and act differently is really all that is left.

But I see worse stuff on the ANSWER and CODE PINK posters at the anti-war marches in Washington, and these peacenik leftists are CITIZENS trashing our country and its way of life.

Or how about when those "Pink Angels" started illegally harassing the Christian protesters who were peacefully praying and spreading God's word? The jackboot commies in Philadelphia didn't try to screw the instigating Pink Angels...they tried to screw the peaceful Christian protesters.

That just shows that Newspeak is alive and well in America. Today, Newspeak declares that what is evil is actually good and what is good is actually evil...the NWO's version of this Newspeak will be this : "All that is bibically evil is legal, while all that is biblically good is illegal."

I disagree. Hispanics are leading us down the road we've seen before. In Canada. Quebec. Except I fear that in our future, the civility (more or less) we see in Canada will not be repeated here. It's going to get ugly.

Neither you nor the nation nor the culture is being destroyed.

America is stronger now, as a country, than it has ever been.

Secure the borders, tighten up employer hiring practices, and work out a way for at least some of those who are already here to qualify for citizenship somewhere down the road.

To act as if the present immigration situation is the death of America is simply ludicrous.

"I heard on the TV news, while watching our favorite channel, that tomorrow, Monday, the Mexican Organizers plan to have over 1 MILLION of their Illegals out there doing stuff, and that they will 'Take over your cities and force your government to accept us'..."

So when Al-Qaeda threatens to "take over cities", it's labeled by the media as terrorism, but when illegal immigrants threaten the same, it's like the media says "Yo go, girl!".

I know I'm gonna catch a lot of hell for saying this, but I think the collective IQ of everybody in the House, Senate, and White House is in single digits.
