Peaceful protest pleases chief
At a police security briefing that ended about 3:15 p.m., Dallas police Chief David Kunkle reported that no one had been arrested and no noteworthy offenses had been committed amid the crowd that was widely estimated at 100,000.
Speculation put the crowd at up to 500,000, although police had no comment on that number.
“It’s been a very good day for the city,” Chief Kunkle said. “This is a family-oriented group that’s come here to demonstrate. No one we saw looked like they were planning to cause any problems.”
Chief Kunkle attributed the peaceful nature of the protest to the work of the volunteers and organizers, as well as police efforts to marginalize the small groups of counterprotesters.
“Even I’m surprised about the nature of the crowd. I think the people have been educated to ignore the other protesters,” he said.
Chief Kunkle reiterated his estimate that 550 police and 200 sheriff’s officers were on duty. Although no additional backups were called Sunday, supervisors were asking early shift officers to stay a few hours later, and calling the evening shift workers to arrive early.
Police work around the city would not be affected, he said.
Some counterprotesters retreat
Police told counterprotesters that they could protect them only to a point, and offered to escort them out through an underground parking lot. Six people left with police who were carrying shields and wearing helmets and shin pads.
Miles Walters, 16, a sophomore at Richardson High School, said he was scared when people started throwing water bottles and hunkered under a building for protection. “I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad,” he said. “Because we take pride in our country they hate us and call us racist.”

Hate to break it to you but while they are pandering to Hispanics for their votes We The People are being ignored!
They don't intend to try to bribe us or do anything to appease us we are totally unimportant to them, even if there were 500,000 of us demonstrating.
Of course I saw them.
But I see worse stuff on the ANSWER and CODE PINK posters at the anti-war marches in Washington, and these peacenik leftists are CITIZENS trashing our country and its way of life.

I heard on the TV news, while watching our favorite channel, that tomorrow, Monday, the Mexican Organizers plan to have over 1 MILLION of their Illegals out there doing stuff, and that they will 'Take over your cities and force your government to accept us'...

This Illegal Invasion simply points up what I have said all along; there is no way to accurately estimate the total numbers of Criminal Illegal Aliens in the country. I hope all the bleeding hearts and sympathizers remember how it feels to have this rubbed in their faces. This is tantamount to a declaration of WAR and if you think that peace and calm is going to come from all this you need to soak your heads and get a fresh revellation on the facts.
This is how National Sovereignty goes by the wayside if left un-attended. Those who we depend on are asleep at the switch! The literal Death of this Nation is planned and you have better get serious about the combined CFR Plan that is being linked up with I.S Highway 35 running from Mexico-United States up to Canada. This is already planned agreed upon and signed without your knowledge or voter approval and once again I have been screaming at the top of my lungs and still nobody is doing anything about it!
I think RUSH said ANSWER, other left wing socialist groups, and that Mexican group who wants to take over Arizona and California (I forget their title). Right wing radio mentioned a number of anti-American organizations. They're all the usual far left wing groups.
The one due on May Day (a communist holiday) is being put on specifically by the Socialist ANSWER group.
It was funny to me, and I've heard and seen worse on these threads over the years. And since they've removed my comment, you might want to have them remove yours too since you chose to quote me.
There is a little factoid that I was unaware of. Did the prestigious University of Wyoming figure this out on their own, or did it take a federal grant? No matter, really. Nothing is going to change. There will be no wall, no massive round-up. There will still be hatred from both extremes. While people of all faiths go on about making life a little better for their brother and neighbor. Even the zealot.
I've heard the Catholic Church is behind some demonstrations, I just don't know if it's this one.

Ohio Deputy Killed In The Line Of Duty Overview Marion County Sheriff's Deputy Brandy Winfield was on a routine call when he was murdered.
Marion County Sheriff's Deputies are mourning the loss of one of their own, and desperately trying to find his killer.
Cops say that Juan Cruz shot and killed Deputy Brandy Winfield inside his police cruiser on SR-423 in Waldo, just south of Marion. Police say the cruiser was somehow sent over and down a ravine and flipped upside down in a wooded area. Cops say it was later found by a motorist.
Cops Say Cruz's Motive Is Still Unknown. What They Do Know Is This:
The Marion County Sheriff's Office says that Deputy Winfield was responding to a disabled vehicle report which came in at 3:59 a.m. on Thursday, October 14th.
Deputy Winfield found an abandoned van at the location but no one inside. He called dispatch later to tell them he saw two people walking down the state highway. Winfield radioed in to check out the pair, but the Sheriff's Office says there was no further contact from the deputy.
Police arrested one of the alleged assailants near the suspects' abandoned vehicle at around 6 a.m. He was seen walking roadside with a gasoline can. Cruz, however, remains on the run. Cops say he fled into the woods just north of Delaware, OH.
Brandy Winfield: Father, Husband
29-year-old Brandy Winfield was a six-year veteran of the Marion County Sheriff's Office. His career was a family affair... his brother and father are also in Marion law enforcement. He is survived by his wife and their two children.
Cruz was an illegal alien. He had already been arrested for rape in Delaware County Ohio but caharges were dropped when the victim would not testify. The INS or ICE or whoever, were never informed. Thet just let the scummmy Mexican SOB walk so he could kill a deputy sheriff who was only trying to HELP him.
Round 'em all up. Build the wall. Save whats left of this nation.
