Antique media bump.

Imagine if they ever posted their true circulation numbers?

Thats a lot of liberals out on the street. Let's see how they do in the free market.

Good luck hippies.

Under Chairman-CEO Ann S. Moore, Time Inc. has slashed staff since December, when the publisher eliminated about 105 jobs, including those belonging to some of the company's highest-ranking and longest-serving executives.

In February, it cut another 100 or so positions, mostly from editorial.

TIME
Pink Floyd

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I’d something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Time Inc. eliminated another 250 jobs today in its latest, largest and, perhaps, last round of cutbacks.

It can't be the last round.

There are still employees left.

This is only the beginning. The old media has a problem - they don't know how to be as dynamic, timely and interesting as the new media. They are trying to adapt - badly - and they are hamstrung by an old prejudice: they used to believe they had the right to shape opinion. The audience has rebelled and wants truth, not propaganda.

I believe media organisations, as such, will be downsizing further in the future.

Regards, Ivan

Hopefully the same thing is happening at NewsWeak. That's even more left-wing and anti-American than Time. Can you say 'Elanor Clift?" Just say it, no pictures please.

I hope they all don't apply for public affairs jobs in the government.

The Department of Homeland Security official arrested Tuesday on charges of seducing a minor over the Internet faced disciplinary action at his previous workplace, Time magazine's Washington bureau, for misusing company equipment to download pornography, friends and former colleagues said.

Glad to see they stand behind their efforts to reduce global warming. If we can put everyone out of work they won't be able to afford to drive their cars or heat their homes. The glacier will be saved!!

Are their journalists embedded with Al Qeada getting the cut?

And some might think I'm joking but I'm not. Frontline did a report on "The Insurgency" and interviewed such journalists.

Time-Warner? They publish DC Comics and Mad Magazine, right?

Maybe they need to stick to funnybooks, they certainly don't have what it takes to report news.

...it's also about bizarre scare stories on global warming.
