The mid-level and junior-level workers shown the door almost all came from the business side of operations at a long list of titles.
"As Time Inc. continues to evolve from a magazine publisher to a multiplatform media company, we're continuing to look at our cost base and how to run our business more efficiently and effectively.

You are SOOOOOOOOOO right! The only "time" I read Time is when getting my oil changed. It's a horrible rag.
"TIME"...The magazine for people who can't think!
Excellent analysis.
MSM, as other industries, either keep up with technology and consumer demand or cease to exist in that form. It's as simple and as complicated as that.
Another factor is the Balkanized younger market - the market MSM are trying to lure - spend more time on computers, video games and with friends then on newspapers, network news or news magazines.
Think Couric is going to appeal to that demographic?
He really means: "As a meat eating dinosaur in an environment that is rapidly changing, we can no longer find food. Thus we're slimming down..."
Hear, hear.
Anybody have an idea of how cheap a one-year subscription is? Dirt cheap. That probably helps their circulation a tiny bit.
Thanks.
Time keeps on slippin, slippin, slippin...
into the future...unemployment line.
As far as I'm concerned, losing their jobs is the least that media liberals deserve. I have about as much sympathy for them as I do for al Qaeda terrorists who lose their jobs by getting fried by our military. At least the terrorists admit that they hate us and hate this country.
The hell with them. Let 'em move out to San Francisco and panhandle and piss in the streets. They're not good for anything else, and the freaks out there apparently love this kind of human debris.

Yup.
Back to the tarpits with CNN/MSNBC/NYT/Time Magazine/USA Today/etc...
They won't survive, and rightly so.
LOL! Good ones!
"last round of cutbacks..."
This month.
A little less money for the DUmmies.
