AP) WEST HAVEN, Conn. A motorist opened fire on a group of Hell's Angels motorcyclists along Interstate 95 on Sunday, killing one and injuring another, police said.
The bikers were traveling near West Haven around 3:30 p.m. when they were shot, said State Police spokesman Sgt. J. Paul Vance.
Police were considering a number of possible motives including road rage, and were searching for a sport utility vehicle with Florida license plates, Vance said.
Roger Mariani, 61, of Stratford, pulled over before realizing he had been shot in the upper torso, Vance said. He later died at the Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Paul Carrol, 37, of Bridgeport, who was grazed by a bullet, was treated at the hospital and released, Vance said.
I think it more likely to be a returning snow-bird suffering from culture shock as he returns to the northeast!
Hells Angels? More likely CPA's or Doctor's. These guys put on their leathers and wash off tattoos and cruise around playing the role. Got a neighbor who does it every warm weekend. I ask him about gang life in "Hecks Angels" once!
Baking them in the Big Red Oven, I'll bet . . .
Spent the night in jail with them once (I'm not associated with them, just happened that way)..not a bad bunch...the women were really out of control. The men were pretty laid back about the whole thing.
A couple of years ago, my husband and I attended a biker rally being held in town. It was my first experience at this type of event. We were riding slowing around the grounds just looking around when I spotted a business associate standing with a group of similarly clothed men. I asked my husband to stop, I got off, and started walking toward my friend though a make shift fence of saw horses. Three burly gents stopped me and stated that no women were allowed beyond the "fence". I just knew they were kidding and kept on walking. Well, they weren't kidding; they were the Outlaws, and absolutely no women were allowed past the barrier. My friend finally turned around, saw me, and walked over to talk with my husband and I. We were then introduced to their leader - a tiny fellow whose arms didn't sit down on his sides properly, He had a pistol underneath each one. Hubby had a .480 Ruger under one arm and the boys just compared toys. It was a strange experience to say the least, yet I'm afraid it's not my cup of tea.
Like rattlesnakes, they won't usually bother you if you don't bother them...........
"Actually, not me.."
What do you know that was not disclosed?
Not a thing. I am 2000 miles away.
"I hope the coppers get him before the Angels do..."
They'll kill him.
"We are the Black Widows! Fear US!"..........
Nice scooter.
I have never been shot but have had some serious injuries in my time. It has been my personal experience that the worse an injury is, the less you feel pain -- at least at first. The real pain comes later. As a young teenager, I had a little homemade fireworks incident, blowing my thumb off, except for a few attaching ligaments etc. All my fingers were charred and split open like over cooked hot-dogs. It didn't hurt at all. I didn't even know that I had shrapnel deep in my leg and had burned parts of it to a crisp until I was at the hospital Years later, I crushed the same hand in a dump truck. I didn't even know I was injured until I couldn't pull my hand out because of the steel that had gone all the way through it, bones and all. Surprisingly, years later, my hand works pretty good, thumb and all.
Dang that beats my pizza with the PLO story all to hell RR !........:o)
I understand that the 2 organizations are in the midst of an escalating war.
This is why shot placement is so critical. Two to the chest and one to the head....we'd like 'em alive....but we'll take 'em dead.... As a SWAT officer once told me....
This is another reason to use a caliber larger than a 9mm. If you shoot someone with a 9mm...and if he finds out about it....he's gonna be awful upset....
Joe has an SUV?? ;)
81 exactly??? :):)
Thompson's Hell's Angels was actually a very good book. Thompson hadn't yet fried his brains with drugs and descended into total lunacy when he wrote it.
