Amish.
As kids or as adults?
So then terrorists aren't fighting a war? Then they should be tried in court, I guess, if what you say is true. I thought they were fighting a war against our way of life.
Wipe that drool off your chin.
Amish, Baptist, Methodist...sigh. Guys we don't do stuff like this on Sundays.
Going to the bathroom in a donut shop.
Never in a donut shop. :)
LOL. Right, because otherwise it would be too tough to figure out the purpose of someone walking into a crowded coffee shop and detonating a bomb. What idiocy.
And you people on the losing side of this debate keep trying to suggest I am angry. I get it. It's an attempt to somehow discredit me, the poster, since you're having no luck against my points. That's fine. Typical loser tactics. Doesn't bother me, and once again, I'm not the slightest bit angry. Actually, I was pleased to see so many supporting my point of view.
It's obvious to anyone with a functioning brain that someone who walks into a crowded shop and detonates a bomb intends to do harm. What isn't clear, unless it is described, is the method used. As another poster pointed out, Timothy McVeigh was a "homicide" bomber. But to insist on language that renders us unable to distinguish between a truck bomb and a human bomb is to cripple the language for the sake of emotion. It's just dumb.
*ouch* That hit close to home...

Man dies in explosion at Toronto Tim Hortons
LAUREN LA ROSE
Canadian Press
Toronto The heart of Toronto's trendy Yorkville shopping district was shocked to a standstill Sunday after an apparent explosion killed one man at a Tim Hortons outlet.
Toronto police Chief Bill Blair described the incident as a fire rather than a bombing. He refused to specify whether it was deliberate or accidental, but said police were not looking for suspects.
"It appears that there has been a very hot and intense fire in an enclosed area within the washroom," Chief Blair said.
"I'm not going to speculate on the cause of what has transpired here. ... Until we determine precisely what happened in that cubicle and what caused those flames that took that man's life, I really can't speculate."
The male victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been identified.
A Tim Hortons spokesman confirmed the dead man was not an employee.
There were no other injuries, Chief Blair said.
Police would not confirm early reports that a man had entered the washroom shortly before the blast with explosives strapped to his body.
Eunice Almeida, 23, a regular patron of the Tim Hortons outlet, said she spoke to employees shortly after it was evacuated. One woman told her the blast was felt as a sudden shock through the store.
"There was an explosion in the men's washroom, then there was a stampede and everybody ran out," Ms. lmeida said.
Later Sunday, another of the coffee franchise's Toronto outlets was locked down after a suspicious package was found. Police confirmed an emergency task force unit was dispatched to the second location just a few subway stations north of the first and the area was evacuated.
"There was a call by the people that worked at Tim Hortons doughnuts that a package had been left by a customer and they just were concerned about it given what had transpired," Chief Blair said.
Fire crews responding to the first scene said there was still smoke in the air of the coffee shop when they arrived after a 911 call.
"We weren't witness to an explosion and there was a very small amount of smoke upon our arrival," said fire department spokesman Daryl Fuglerud.
"It doesn't appear that we could see much of a fire."
Emergency workers attempted to revive the victim, but were unable to save him. Mr. Fuglerud said the man had burns to his body.
"We tried to work on him," he said.
The body remained inside the coffee shop hours after the blast, while authorities cordoned off a block of busy Yonge Street and evacuated the area.
Passersby crowded on the sunny sidewalk along the yellow police tape and watched as a robotic bomb disposal unit was unloaded and sent into the building.
The fire marshal will be investigating, Mr. Fuglerud said.
A second loud bang was heard in the area at around 4 p.m. when police detonated a suspicious duffel bag found nearby as a precaution.
"(Police) dealt with it by exploding the package on the street," Chief Blair said. "There was nothing in the package of a suspicious or problematic nature."
Officers in white hazardous-materials suits were seen entering and leaving the store, but it was not clear whether a dangerous substance had been identified.
One woman who works in the area said the threat of violence so close to home surprised to her.
"It's scary it's like you're just not safe anywhere," said Safina Vig, 29. "Anything can happen at any moment, especially in your own neighbourhood."
Employees were escorted from the scene appearing shaken, and some attempted to shield their faces from the throng of television cameras.
They refused questions, but Tim Hortons district manager Amin Islam said they were doing well.
"I'm just making sure they're going home safely," he said.
Mr. Islam said he learned of the incident on the radio and immediately rushed to the scene to see what he could do.
Well no, because neither are they interested in taking only others' lives. They definitely intend to take their own, hence "homicide bomber", which is a redundancy anyway, doesn't tell the story. Timothy McVeigh was a homicide bomber. But clearly, his means and methods were not the same as a suicide bomber.
We all know what a suicide bomber is. No one was confused about it. No one thought that suicide bombers were merely bombing themselves. We all knew that a suicide bomber is someone who has explosives on his person and detonates them in a public place to commit a terrorist act, like blowing up a bus or a pizzaria. We've seen it in Israel many times and there is no confusion about it.
Homicide bomber is akin to freedom fries. It's usage is political, not factual. It serves emotion, not clarity. And it's clearly moronic.
Thanks. Good to know there's others with some basic common sense.
Ha! Now that's funny.
Agree. We can only hope.
It was a rogue lightning strike. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Because by blowing themselves up in the process would make them seem too....what? normal? on what planet? Last I checked, strapping on explosives and blowing yourself up in a public place with the clear intent of killing others is pretty stinking sick. I don't need assenine phrases to point that out to me. I get it. The only people who think suicide bombing isn't sick are the sickos doing the bombing. But hey, that's just me. Maybe you all think suicide bombing is heroic. I don't think it is, and I've never met anyone who thinks it is. As for Katie, I don't give a crap what she thinks. If the guy was strapping explosives, I'd like to know about it, and I'll draw my own conclusions, thank you very much. Should they NOT tell us ifd they blew themselves up? And if they do tell us, then why not just use the perfectly usable term to describe them? Suicide bomber. It's so idiotic to think that we need to be told that suicide bombing is abhorrent, that I am amazed anyone with half a brain would think otherwise.
No, the poor unfortunate was freebasing coke in he lavatory when all hell broke loose...
You got the details all wrong. The neighbor was John Favara. He was not pulling out of his driveway. He was driving down the street, on his way home from work. Gotti's son, Frank, was riding not a bicycle, but a motorized mini-bike. Favara struck Frank when Frank darted into the street. Favara did not move out almost the day after. The accident took place in the month of March. Favara remained where he lived. But after receiving death threats and all sorts of phone and mail harassment (he even went to the Gotti home to personally apologize, but was beaten by Victoria Gotti with a baseball bat), he put his house up for sale. Only two days before closing on the sale of his house, Favara was kidnapped. Witnesses saw Favara get hit over the head with a 2x4 and dragged into the back of a van. Neither his body, nor body parts were ever found. Gotti and his wife were conveniently out of town, in Florida, during the kidnap.
I don't think it's worth arguing about, but I am rather curious as to why this non-issue is such a BIG issue to you.
You can say you're not angry all you want, but your posting history belies that argument.
As I said, it is NOT an issue with me, so I cannot possibly be a 'loser' as you assert.
But if it's important for you to declare yourself a 'winner' in this non-debate, and it makes you feel better, or elevates your self-esteem, or whatever.......feel free.
Carry on with your heart-felt......(better word for it than 'angry?') argument. I'm not interested in continuing, thanks.........
