Just got home from work, and was listening to Joe Crummy on KFYI interview one of the dads of the kids that burned the Mexican flag:
Apparently, his kid was arrested by AJ Police and was held in detention in Florence all day yesterday. CHarged with Arson. It took all of their savings to get a retainer for an atty.
It gets better. The family is now getting death threats. They were informed by police that there are those trying to find out where the family lives, and are going after them. AJ police stated to the father, there is nothing they can do about it, until someone actually shows up on their property.
Also, there was another kid from the school (Rod, who said he was a "future" Marine) read that letter from the school, forbiding any kid to wear any article of clothing resembling or representing a flag, no matter what country it represents.
He said emphatically, that he *will* wear the US Flag to school Monday.
Apparently this flag burning was near the ROTC table.
My respect for the kids in AJ have grown a hundred fold!

Yes, I've seen the picture several times before, and it is
insulting, and should be dealt with by law. Your point?
If there is a constitutional right to burn the American flag, then why is there no constitutional right to burn the Mexican flag?
Please keep us informed on that part of the story, too. Thanks.

A very excellent graphic!
The Supreme Court has ruled that there is a Constitutional right to burn the American flag. I think the police ought to be charged with false arrest.
Reading between the lines... The problem is that the flag was not his flag. Some Mexican students had put this flag up to show support for illegal immigrants. The American students took it down and burned it.
If they'd burned their own Mexican flag, it wouldn't have been an issue.
Arrested and charged with arson for a misdemeanor... sounds harsh to me.
Exactly!! Count me in.
How dare they arrest this young man
yet allow the criminal mexican flag waving punks to walk out of school and demonstrate, they should all be arrested and thrown in jail.
I know for a fact that is it legal to burn flags... or is it just OUR flag? /s
Will do.
I suspect, unless Apache Junction drops their charges against this young fellow, I hope to hear of something, sometime next week.
Dickey Betts rocks.
Sounds like this school needs FReeping. Let this school be surrounded by thousands of American flag waving supporters of freedom of expression.
The students may be prohibited from bring flags on school grounds, but wouldn't it be great for some one to hand out small American flags after school to any student that wanted to show support for their country.
I detect that you are opposed to war because it might be more costly than we can bear.
Some fights must be fought despite the odds. Sometimes the cost of Losing is far less than the cost of not fighting at all. Wars happen. One fine day the southern states didn't wake up and say, "Hey I got a bright idea. Let's secede from the union." No, it was a long time coming -- and it came. It couldn't not come.
Similarly - we are on the verge of another civil war, with grander, transnational interests involved. This war will not go away if our government continues to pander to those that come here illegal and threaten our security, economy, and culture.
It will definitely not go away, if the illegals, in their arrogance, hoist their own country's flag, on American soil, and with defiance declare the US soil as theirs. The flag is a powerful symbol and to raise it on another's soil, emboldens and encourages others to do likewise and worse. Burning the Mexican flag was symbolic as well. It demostrated that many US citizens will not give in or give up and that they will defend their country even if their government chooses not to. it was important that the flag be burned. The young man should be publically praised not arrested or worse, simply ignored as counter protestor.
These illegals are "pawns", discarded by their own corrupt government that doesn't care about them and is happy they send U.S. dollars back, while not bothering the dictatorship at home. Meanwhile, here in the U.S., their lawbreaking employers happily employ them, pay them less, don't provide benefits, and let the U.S. taxpayers subsidize their social services.
That is exactly why a war is coming.
It is not likely to be talked out of, when so many involved have agendas, not amenable to a lawful & peaceful resolution.
Who are the dupes, yeah, you and I, bud, that's who. And the Boston Tea Party thing, maybe it should be directed at our elected government. They aren't enforcing the laws that would've prevented this problem in the first place.
They certainly have a large share of the blame coming.
Thanks for the info. I'm keeping it for future reference! And my belated condolences on your mother's passing. That must have been very hard for your family.
Was it his own flag, or did it belong to someone else when he burned it?

As I understand it, the flagpole belonged to the ROTC. A Mexican kid/student rose the Mexican flag on that flagpole. It was taken down by the ROTC members and returned to that Mexican kid. The Mexican kid returned and put the Mexican flag back up there. So, the american kid took it down and burned it.
So, as the debate goes, the flag belonged to someone else, but after the Mexican put it up on the ROTC flagpole, it can be considered to be abandoned.
This is obviously a desperate attempt to silence other AMERICANS as well because of the chilling message it sends. The locals should publicly question the patriotism of those who filed charges and expose the background of that school principal.I for one do not want any immigration AT ALL!I do not like the culture, the language or the people. These people along with politicians are destroying what it means to be an American.JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE HERE DOES NOT MAKE YOU AN AMERICAN!
