It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest!   We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. "Wear Red" Friday

You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

in any of our childhoods!!

They do a lot of that! The family fortune has once more been depleted by a recent eye injury to our sealpoint lookalike ..She is fine now but we thought we might have to take her to A&M U to try to save the eye..

Found out the salve the vet gave us for the eye was very irritating to her eye..We stopped on our own doctoring with that stuff in her eye and just finished up the oral antibiotics. A specialist agreed and said she was fine.

We clip nails but it still happens.

Wilderness





There's a marsh far beyond the back yard fence
It's best in the early morning when the air is cool and dense
Long blades of grass bend with the heavy dew
And whisper by silently as I sear for clues
Of who or what has decided to invade my domain

Puddles form around my white spats from last night rain
As I slink low to the ground and breathe in scents galore
Tracking spoor while my ears swirl to capture foreign sounds
With the crackling whispering grass to aid my solitude
Having not decided if I'm stalking Sport or Food

Up ahead I can smell a warren of small Marsh Rabbits
Humans call them Hares, as is their habit
They are small, quick and sly and I give them a quite wide berth
For even the smallest animal has it worth
Drawing out larger animals from the wood line and the sky

Beyond the Rabbits a a chattering nest of Quail
Slithering silently through the grass that whispers and sighs
Keeping below the blade tips, my senses never fail
Though I see the Mother circling high above
Trilling with a noise not unlike a Dove

Another languorous step and I smell the musk of a raccoon
Meandering wide and cautious to find a hovel roughly hewn
Also tiny paw and claw marks that betray its path
I sit silently and ponder if the Intruder shall feel my wrath and sorrow
For it is time for Lunch and I'll let you know Tomorrow!

I loved everything about the Black Hills, Mount Rushmore, Rapid City, and South Dakota. I spent a restful night at a K.O.A. campground just outside of town and the entire next day exploring. I was awed by the whole of the experience and appreciate thinking back on it today. (:

Heavenly Father, we come before You to ask You to guide those who tomorrow will be giving care to our precious Sister, Kitty Mittens.

Guide the surgeons, anesthesiolgist, nurses, and all other personnel assisting with her spinal surgery, and during the recovery period afterward.

Let it end her unrelenting pain of many months, and free her to enjoy her lovely home in the woods.
There she glorifies You in every aspect of her life, seeing the woods and ponds and 'critters,' and in her descriptions and her devotion to others, spreads wide Your Love!

You are The Great Physician, and assure us You hear every prayer, as you acknowledged last week when her dear husband had an emergency health situation.
We thank and praise you for the report that he is trouble free!

We acknowledge in all things, You are Lord!!
