I was all ready to help for 08 but for the life of me I just can't see doing it. I have just lost so much faith in Bush when he is suppose to be the man in charge of security.Does anyone know of anyone who has the guts to put the American people first!

Everyone raise their hand who is voting next time around.

I'm voting in 06, and again in 08. So can you. See the tagline.

Its really sad to see what is going on.

A guest worker program that takes eleven years for the worker to become a citizen doesn't seem all that unreasonable to me.

But, I've never been closed to alternatives to the "let's-kick-'em-all-out" crowd.

Anyone who thought a bill like HR 4437 would survive in the Senate was dreaming, especially with its draconian penalties against humanitarian organizations (like churches) that work with illegals.

All or nothing, once again, get's us nothing.

It will be something to watch the GOP burn due to Bush. All the Bushbots will wonder why he lost a majority in both houses. And will not believe that their guy is one of the most ignorant and stupid presidents to ever hold the office. If we can just make it through 08 without having Bush destroy the whole country will be an incredible feat.

"Rep. Tom Tancredo of Colorado is engaging in what amounts to open warfare with the White House on the issue. ..... Tancredo and other House conservatives intend to block any bill that contains either amnesty or guest worker provisions."

I encourage everyone to flood Tancredo with supportive e-mail, snail mail, donations .... whatever it takes to make Bush, et al, realize that they are not on the side of the majority in this matter.

Then some sort of guest worker program.

I don't think many people have problems with a guest worker program as long as (a) employers pay prevailing wages (ie taxes, FICA, etc) instead of paying under-the-table, (b) guest workers are properly documented, (c) being a guest worker has no bearing on citizenship.

Amnesty is the worst of all possible worlds. If a bill isn't enacted this year, then at least the status quo still regards illegals as 'illegals' instead of being placed on a citizenship track.

The reason politicians don't care about illegal immigration is because, while the people care about the issue, they don't vote on the issue. It is never in the top five of issues among voters during presidential campaigns.

It will be in 2008, that's for certain.

I got criticized here for calling the Boomers a generation of locusts.

I think I'm vindicated now. There is nothing the Boomers won't put on our tab.

The Constitution Party believes we shouldn't have an Air Force. It's gonna be pretty hard to attract mainstream America to that notion.

But good luck with that.

So you support the Cindy Sheehan/Osama Party then?

Ever heard of primaries, or are you really a Moveon.org clown?

None of what you claim will have any meaning if you get rid of all the illegals.

What i'm saying is, eliminate the illegal government social programs ie. SS, Medicare, welfare, food stamps, housing, etc., force out all illegals, and the government doesn't need the funds that it currently spends.

If you eliminate all the freebies that allow americans to not work there will not only be more than ample people to "do the jobs that americans don't want" but an excess clamoring for them if they don't want to starve to death.

Bush can take his conpssonate BS and shove it, in the real world it's called socialism.

"Agreed, but don't you think Bush knows that too?"

Perhaps.
But he can't be re-elected, so he doesn't have anything to lose.
Also, it's mainly due to the War. If the war were going well, Bush would be a hero across the country with strong public opinion polls and Republicans would be flying high on the national security issue.

But it's not, and they're in the doghouse with the President in the national perception.

In that environment, everything ELSE, like this, is an irritant.

Bush has had the same immigration policies since 2000, but the whole thread turned out to vote for him and his party, with the current policies, in 2004. Because of the War.

The issue is interesting, but it's the War that is costing the Republicans the farm. If something dramatic and positive happens, and it has to happen very soon, then Bush and the Republicans will get a new lease on life.

Otherwise, grimness.

For what the Constitution Party *really* believes, visit this website. http://www.constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php Oh - and by all means, do support Rep. Tom Tancredo.
