Breaking - Jill Carrol released in Iraq - more to come
I agree. That is an odd response. Especially when you consider the various tapes released during her days as a hostage in which she was described as "sobbing" and pleading for the release of women prisoners.
U.S. reporter seen crying, pleading for release of women Iraqi prisoners
"Carrolls face is visible in the footage, encircled by a conservative Islamic veil that covers her hair, neck and shoulders. She is sobbing as she speaks to the camera, sitting in front of a yellow and black tapestry."
So why was she sobbing? Mental abuse?
Nope,you're correct.She was,at least,a "useful tool" in all this and,at worst,she was a willing accomplice.
The knuckledraggers who kidnapped her never intended to harm her. While their "morals" are firmly, and proudly, rooted in the 9th Century, they ain't stupid and they know *exactly* how to manipulate western media.
This dame will write a book...she'll appear on Hardball...she'll be the darling of Soros and DUmmie Land.. and she'll make a small fortune.
And leftists will know that they'll *always* be able to depend on her.
She is still in Iraq. It will be interesting to see if she changes her tune (and her outfit) when she is someplace safer.
I'm watching the reply of her glowing report of her captivity. Some news station ought to play these two tapes one after the other.
"Before too long, watch for her to speak about how well she was treated and how much she admires them and their cause. "
Excellnt point. It will be interesting to see if any journalist asks her the following questions.
Q. If you were being treated so well by your captors, why were crying, screaming and begging for your life in the tapes that were released by the terrorists?
Q. Were you lying then or are you lying now?
Its a pity really, she wanted to be some kind of a martyr and she failed misreably. She's no Rachel Corrie, at least that girl had guts!
My vote is for Option "B".
Wonder if a ransom was paid for her?
My guess is they got serious $$$.They'll also get seriously,*seriously* positive press in the West.
Talk about prophetic. :)
Nevertheless, a lot of us have long suspected that she was more a willing participant than a kidnapped hostage. These pictures and her comments suggest we might be right about that.
I wonder if she was aware of the death of her translator when she made this statement about how well her captors treated her. More needs to come out before I can form a judgment about her experience. Her statement is indeed odd.
Her Muslim garb clashed with the tapestry?
It wouldn't surprise if FOX finds a way to do this. I've been watching FOX & Friends and the expressions on the faces of Steve and E.D. have been priceless.
No, all is not well, and I don't think it will "end well" unless and until she's prosectured for perpetrating this hoax, which I'm utterly convinced the whole "kidnapping" was in the first place. Worse, she seems all too willing to have sacrificed her translator to carry it off.
LOL
Was proof ever offered of the man's death? Does anyone remember?
Ack--"prosectured" should have been "prosecuted"--note to self: use spell check.
You mean other than his body beind found?
Everyone email O'Reilly and Hannity and tell them to expose her as a terrorist sympathizer. Tell them to contrast her hostage video to her interview video. Oh yea how about her dead translator. Wow they were sooooooo nice to him.
Was it American officials who found his body? Just asking if anyone remembers.
If she was never threatened or mistreated, why the wailing in the video?
"I wonder how many times they raped her."
And exactly why would you care? Got a little fantasy thing going on?
