"But maybe I've gotten too cynical."

Cynicism is justifiable in this case. It smells.

How much do you want to bet that she keeps wearing that headscarf when she gets back to Michigan?

watching her interview on cnn now

doesn't look like a person that's been held captive and threaten to be beheaded.

she just reiterated that it's important for people to know that she was never hit, hurt, harmed blah blah blah

seriously this bitch needs to be exposed as a terrorist sympathizer

"I was treated VERY well. NEVER threatened."
--Jill Carroll thought it very important for the world to know these things.

Yeh I just saw her on Fox and wondered why she was still wearing the getup. I forsee a book deal in her future with lots of praise for her captives, and calls slamming the US for hating muslims. She was probably brain washed and released.

Happy news indeed.

Parents, friends, co-workers, the country and the world is ecstatic over the wonderful news.

I feel like my own daughter was lost and found.

All is well that ends well.

Her captors-lovers shot her translator in the head and she seems to have forgotten all about it.

I just have one question. I just saw her remarks on video tape and she said:

"It's important for people to realize that I was not harmed in any way, I was not slapped."

Jill, I would like to understand why that is "important for me to realize". That seems to be an odd first statement from someone who has just been released from 3 months of captivity.

I think she'll respond "but outside of that, they were nice people."

A 2005 handout photo shows Christian Science Monitor freelance writer Jill Carroll helping to prepare traditional food at the home of Iraqi friends. Carroll was freed in Iraq on Thursday, nearly three months after being kidnapped in Baghdad. (The Carroll Family/Handout/Reuters)

IF it wasn't for that cold blooded killing, I would believe she made it all up. Now I am just stuck believing she is a brainless nitwit. This whole thing stinks.

I'm very glad Ms. Carroll is safe, but something has always bothered me about her kidnapping. Since her release, what she has said about her "captors" doesn't ring true. They NEVER threatened her???? Then, what was that video she made crying about how they would kill her and surrounded by masked gunmen? I'm willing to bet she has converted to islam, as well.

Hope I'm wrong.

The body of the interpreter, Allan Enwiyah, 32, was later found in the same neighborhood. He had been shot twice in the head, law enforcement officials said.

"Before too long, watch for her to speak about how well she was treated and how much she admires them and their cause."

It didn't take long did it. Just heard her on a new video saying that she was well treated and that they didn't threaten her in any way. These statements are in direct conflict with those she made on at least one of the videos of her in captivity. Didn't she say through tears that they were threatening to kill her? If she wasn't being threatened or treated badly, why was she crying? It's sad when you have to question the motives of a "hostage." Is she suffering from the Stockholm Syndrome, or were her "distressed" appearances on video staged? Wonder if a ransom was paid for her?

It's curious that she was treated well, yet, in the Jan. 17 tape released, she was pleading for her life, while the terrorists threatened to kill her in 72 hours unless all women prisoners were released. I guess that incident slipped her mind?
