Perhaps the presidential talk surrounding Clinton indicates that the United States is ready to accept a woman president and ready to catch up with the rest of the world.
I hope I die at a ripe old age before we "catch up" with the rest of the world.

The ABC television show "Commander in Chief," starring Geena Davis, helps people develop a new way of seeing a president, she said.Yeah, that worked. It had an audience of 6 people and failed in its first season.

Why is it so difficult for the left to face the reality that there are inherent differences between men and women? Could there be a successful woman president? Of course. Margret Thatcher proves that it is possible. But clamoring for a woman president just because we haven't yet had one sounds a lot like some sort of weird affirmative action to me. Stong female leaders are like white baseketball players.

"Wilson said she would like to see the United States develop a quota system similar to the one in South Africa, in which 30 percent of parliament seats must go to women. Even the new governments in Iraq and Afghanistan have quotas that put a higher ratio of women in government than currently serve in the United States, Wilson said."
A quota for elected officials, doesn't seem very democratic to me

Indeed. That's why I think the "Condi v Hillary" showdown that so many stump for is a dumb idea. Perhaps we'll see a day when the most qualified candidate is a woman - but when that's the case it's usually because the men have become bums. No, when a woman is elected president of the United States it will be a sign of God's judgment in my view.

"Do you know how many women were in the Senate in 1984? One," said Ferraro. "We've multiplied that number by 14." So we have one now? We need to multiply that by 10 times! Then we'll have.. one.

Men - in every age, every culture, every household - one thing is constant - women everywhere needling "you're not listening to me!"
If Congress consisted of 90% women, groups of women would still be saying we're not being heard it's not enough.wah wah.
They constantly test us with this stuff. We can and should listen as able, but must never ever be rattled by it, let it provoke us, or be overun by it.

Don't worry. Chicks aren't that good at math.
Political scientists believe that -- on balance -- being female helps a candidacy.

Women are now heads of state in Germany, Liberia and Chile. Finland's president, Tarja Halonen, was just re-elected last week. Ergo, Americans have more common sense than Germans, Liberians, Chileans and, especially, Finns.

That is a far cry from what the situation was when Schroeder entered Congress in 1973. Then a woman on Capitol Hill wasn't just a novelty but an anomaly.
Sorry ladies....you were all anomalies.

The ABC television show "Commander in Chief," starring Geena Davis, helps people develop a new way of seeing a president, she said. The women quoted in this article are pretty much all airheads! One stupid quote after another. The US isn't going to elect a President based on a tv show - is she out of her mind? If it did, we would have had President George Jefferson movin' on up to the East Side!
Hey baby, multiply that one by 50, then you get 50% - right? Hahahahahahahaha.

As a woman I am disgusted that someone thinks I would vote for them because of their gender. These type of articles just might make me do the opposite.

There are more women in this country than there are men. If they don't like the fact that there are many more male politicians in Washington than there are women, then they only have themselves to blame.

If we assume that woman are smarter than men, then their absence from politics is simply proof of it. Seriously, would anyone consider the likes of Pelosi or Cynthia McKinney part of a pool of intellectuals? I mean, even among cockroaches? Not likely...

The closest a woman ever came to becoming president of the United States was when Geraldine Ferraro ran for vice president on the Democratic ticket with Walter Mondale in 1984."Yeah, well Mondale was cowed.

I'm a woman and I don't want a female President. We could end up like Louisiana should any problem arise.
