According to sources on Capitol Hill, U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) punched a Capitol police officer on Wednesday afternoon after he mistakenly pursued her for failing to pass through a metal detector.
Members of Congress are not required to pass through metal detectors.
Sources say that the officer was at a position in the Longworth House Office Building, and did not recognize McKinney, nor saw her credentials as she went around the metal detector.
The officer called out, Maam, Maam, and walked after her in an attempt to stop her. When he caught McKinney, he grabbed her by the arm.
Witnesses say McKinney pulled her arm away, and with her cell phone in hand, punched the officer in the chest.
McKinneys office has not responded to requests for comment.
According to the Drudge Report, the entire incident is on tape.
Drudge continues, "The cop is pressing charges, and the USCP (United States Capitol Police) are waiting until Congress adjurns to arrest her, a source claims."
Oh oh .. I missed the part about the tape
Yeah ... run the tape!
More like SINthia.
The only reason I said that is I had an employee when I was a restaurant manager...that got mad at me and tried to hit me with a pair of tongs...
I grabbed her arm to keep her from hitting me...and then sent her home.
The next morning I came to work..and the police were there to arrest me for assault..
The only reason I didn't get arrested was the other employees saw her raise the tongs to hit me first...
But, had they NOT, I would have been arrested.
She did try to sue...but was talked out of it my my home office somehow.
He's a police officer rightfully attempting to restrain a perp in the course of his duties.
Don't believe that lawsuit dog will hunt.
And in D.C. there's an excellent chance that the officer is black.
I thought she was a Princess. No?
I'm working on it.
Actually this story for some reason reminds me of something that happened to me at a Broadway theater, after the show. I don't think I ever posted it on FR. The entire theater crowd was streaming out of the play (don't remember what it was), we were already through the front lobby, and the large brass doors that opened directly out onto the sidewalk. My wife was somewhere behind me, as I looked up and noticed a large black limo pull up to the curb: just as I noticed the limo, I felt a very strong push from behind===someone was pushing me out of the way in order to make a bee-line to the limo. I righted myself before falling over, and out of the corner of my eye noticed a dark haired woman with her head down charging forward a little like a football player on the scrimmage line---I saw her face, her dark hair, and ber dark fur coat. I said to myself-----"Marlo Thomas? Could it be???"
As she slid into the limo, I saw that, indeed it was THAT GIRL, or should I say "THAT BITCH". Funny and ironic thing was, about 6 months later I got a spam e mail requesting a contribution to St. Jude's Hospital, signed "Your friend, Marlo THomas.". I replied by citing the above story, and said I would NEVER give anything to any charity associated with Marlo Thomas.
It's worth it to cuff her.
She doesn't look happy
"This woman is pure evil."
Sorry, I think you meant "pure psychotic fruitcake".
You know the country has gone down hill and lost it's common sense when a treasonous, hateful, insane, stupid, nonsensical POS like Cynthia McKinney is elected to the government.
well i don't know the law in DC but here it sure isn't an assault unless there's some injury. sounds more like she was startled by being grabbed, turned around and punched (pushed hard?) his chest. what's his injury? don't mean to burst your bubble here but it doesn't exactly sound like a crime to me.
Police
Make me
Sick?
Officer white ? I hope so ...She's a true POS
I'm not happy members of Congress get to bypass metal detectors.... whats up with that?
Did not Hilary run over a cop? Or at least her driver. No respect for our police.
If it was a person on the street, you might be right... you don't take a swing at a Capitol Hill Cop unless you are a nutbag.
