You're right. And if he hadn't resigned they be screaming it's time for a shakeup.

I watched the report on NBC and David Gregory's comment was that, after watching these three men together over the past 6 yrs., he had seen a genuine closeness, and that they are loyal to the president.

There was also commentary (can't remember if from Gregory or Russert) that Bolton is very close with Rove. Wonder how those hoping the "shake up" means the downfall of the Bush Administration liked that?! LOL.

Hate to break it to you but in politics you have to buy votes. Sad but true. If the President wanted any of his iniatives passed he had to dole out money for votes.

Ronald Reagan had to do the same thing. Allowing spending to be 50% more than revenue coming into the treasury.

Thankfully, the President's tax cuts are bringing more money than expected so the deficit is being reduced at a good rate.

Politics is not bean bag.

I'd like to see an attractive Karen Hughes type replace McClellan, somebody that everybody likes to hear from and see.

Where do you purchase the medication that makes you what you are?

And by the way, are they designer, or just plain generic "Dickhead Pills"?

I see him once in awhile on news programs, damn few have the guts to try to argue with him, but he always comes off as a nice guy.

Good News!!!

I have nothing against Andy Card, but if any post at the White House needs fresh blood, it's the Chief of Staff. He's been at it for a long time, and he has to be seriously fried after all this time.

Might be good. But she better be an iron lady behind the smile.

From what I understand Card has stayed on the job longer than most chiefs of staff. It is an extremely grueling job.

I like the guy also, what I don't understand is his infatuation with John McCain.

I didn't realize he had one.

And what spectacular initiatives HAS he passed?

And the deficit is being reduced at a good rate? What do you call this?

Year - On-budget Deficit (billions)

2000 : -86.4
2001 : 32.4
2002 : 317.4
2003 : 538.4
2004 : 568.0
2005 : 493.6
2006 : 551.0 (projected)
2007 : 527.0 (projected)
2008 : 448.0 (projected)
2009 : 422.0 (projected)
2010 : 410.0 (projected)
2011 : 447.0 (projected)
2012 : 389.0 (projected)
2013 : 414.0 (projected)
2014 : 412.0 (projected)
2015 : 412.0 (projected)
2016 : 450.0 (projected)

Those projections are from the CBO's estimate of Bush's budget. I DON'T call that a good rate of reduction

In that this position does not require Senate confirmation, do you think he might ask Miss Miers to take the chief of staff position? After all, if she was qualified for the Supreme Court, she is qualified for chief of staff.
