Yes we do love him. He can slap them more effectively in the Texas/curious manner, much better than others can calling them liars and abettors of terrorism. He shuts them down so nicely there is no room for Criticism!!
Gotta love it!

Remembering slick willie polling to figure out where to go on vacation.
Never a day goes by that I don't remember how blessed we are to have this man as the leader of the free world.

I don't think he is smirking at the wrong time at all. He hit a grand slam. When sternness was called for, there was NO smirk.
President Bush uses humor to his advantage, and delivers well with a one two punch. The man got his points across, without ANY attacks, and put the press in their place. He did great

"Enemy is bound by a philosphy. They believe we will lose our will to fight. Bush takes the enemy seriously."
That was one of his finest points - I'm happy he reiterated it to a dense bored partisan press corps. He attempted to make them understand that the Left and the Press do not understand either the enemy or the tactics of the enemy, nor how the press itself plays into the hands of the enemy by venturing to change public opinion.
We are watching the MSM's Vietnam strategy being replayed. 24/7 negativity to wear down our resolve and our will to support the President, his policies, his Administration(hence the calls for personnel changes)and our troops.
Perhaps one of the most fundamental choices Americans have to make now is who do we trust: President Bush or the MSM?
To: Milhous
Rummy is the best thing that ever happened to our military and the worse thing that ever happened to the sacred cows, also known as perfumed princes, at the Pentagon.

he is pointing out that no dem member of congress is standing up saygin "vote for me, I promise no surveillance act"He's pointing out that no Democrat or member of the MSM has stood up and asked for the program to be killed. If the Democrats were anywhere's honest about it, they'd be begging for a floor vote with the MSM cheering them on along the way.
It's just like this censure business with Feingold, which Carl Cameron brought up during his question about the spy program. President Bush covered both with his answer that the Democrats and their lying cohorts in the media aren't being honest with the American people.

Clearly you know nothing about budgeting if you think any President can simply remove the mandatory spending dollars at his/her whim.
Long term commitments have been made, pensions, etc. and could not possibly be removed.

You are correct. The USSC deemed that the line item veto usurped the power of the legislative branch.

The President is on the high road with asking congress to cooperate in lining out certain expenditures.
Doubtful the congress-critters will agree.

Also, as I stated, he blows nationally televeised speeches by making aid to Africa (as just one example) his #1 priority, intead of reigning in entitlement programs or saving SS.He didn't blow any speeches. He took a Democrat issue and made it his own. If Bush fails, it's the Democrat's fault for getting us involved in the first place.

fabrication=obvious fabrication.
If President Bush was like that, he would show that side of him when the Press starts their childish questioning. He doesn't, and isn't.
OBVIOUS fabrication

I know enough to know the difference between writing budgets and signing them! LOL, you might want to take another run at that private school.
PTL for this President having the wisdom to know that putting money in the hands of the people in a time of national disaster(s) is the only effective way to save an economy going straight down the toilet, which of course would take the world's powers with us.
PTL for this President having the fortitude to ignore the likes of you, who puts your grade school education up against the President's Master's in business.
The President made his case today, again. You either ignored it or are incapable of understanding it, I know not and do not care which.

GW should walk down from the stage, sauter over to the old hag, slap her across the face and say, "Shuuuhhhhhh! I'm answering your question!"Helen has either lost her mind or lost her hearing. I think she's lost both.

President Bush is a real man who has a job to do and is not shirking it. The French and Germans are the shirkers who wanted to continue to continue to collaborate with Saddam. They've let the "Coalition of the Willing" make all the sacrifices.
