President Bush to Hold 10 a.m. News Conference (Just Breaking No Info Yet!)
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
Bush told Helen that he disagreed w/the premise of her questtion (why did you go to war?) and that what she'd said was "NOT TRUE."
Good question by Carl Cameron.
Bringing the "I" question right to the forefront!
Great, great answer by W. Why is no one calling for an end to the NSA program.
Carl Cameron on subject of terrorist surv. program...impleachment..what does the discussion of impleachment do to you (basically)
"Need for honest and open debate without needless partisanship...
he is pointing out that no dem member of congress is standing up saygin "vote for me, I promise no surveillance act"
The camera did not show what the President was referring to.
He's AWESOME today!! But, I agree... As my sales manager used to tell me, "Don't Buy it Back!"
He was ready for this question too.
He's telling the Democrats to run on their protests. Good!
Carl Cameron now asking about wiretapping/censure.
Smacking down Harry Reid now re "smacking down the Patriot Act"
Karl Cameron raises the issue of censure. Prez says no one on the dem side got up and called for the end of the NSA program. They ought to take their case to the people if they don't think we should be doing it. Cites Reid saying "we killed the Patriot Act." A one/two punch by GW to the dimwit party.
YAAAAY!! [we knew it , we knew it , sometimes ya just know]
Not a damn thing, but you know the media. They can't even call a terrorist, a terrorist, or a bomber a murderer.
The President says Congress ought to put it's money where its mouth is, and pass a bill or something regarding the Terrorist Surveillance PRogram - or should say that the program should stop.
President Bush says those are debates that the country should have.
At every press conference or speech, this happens. Unfortunately, most Americans have never heard an entire speech, just the selected soundbites that the left considers most negative.
He just put a Texas style smackdown on the Democrats.
LOL!!!
Take it slow, Take it easy now...HAHAHAHA
I loved it!! She kept trying to interrupt and he wouldn't allow it. That's the M.O. of liberals...when you're hearing something you don't like; interrupt or talk over the person, but he politely and firmly shut Helen Thomas up.
The Coalition displayed considerable adaptability once it became clear that insurgency was not simply gangs of stay-behinds but a broad and well-organized threat. Critics of the Coalitions performance in Iraq rarely mention that U.S. forces switched with no preparation or warning from a maneuver warfare campaign to a urban combat scenario (known by the unlovely acronym MOUTMilitary Operations in Urbanized Terrain), and in truth one of the most difficult battling an insurrection hiding among a friendly civilian population. The credit for this generally smooth transition goes to outstanding training and excellent commanders the success of Gen. David Petraeus of the 101st Airborne in pacifying Mosul and that of Col. H.R. McMasters 3rd Armored Combat Regiment in Tal Afar will be studied for years to come.
I agree. I only wish he could stop the pausing and "aw aw" sound when he talks. I know it is tough but in some cases it doesn't come across well.
I still think he should hold a presser and townhall everyday until this war is done. It might seem like a lot but its the least he can do while the troops fight on in Afganistan, Iraq and other places.
His message resonates with the people and counters the antiwar communists et. al.
