If a Poll Took Place in the Desert, And No One Was Around, Would It Make a Sound?
My thoughts ^ | 03/19/06 | DoughtyOne

Posted on 03/19/2006 12:44:41 AM PST by DoughtyOne

Polls are quite the rage today. Newspapers, magazines and television networks are constantly informing me of things I don't give a damn about. George Bush who can't run again, is supposedly unelectable. Our troops wish they were at home with wife and kids or girl friends, pals, mom and dad. Most folks in the U.S. reportedly don't think we should be trying to provide the same type of freedom to the Iraqis that we did to the French, the Germans, the Japanese and many others around the planet.

I'd expext our troops to wish they were home with their families. Now there's an enlightening answer to a dumb ass question. Who would be stupid enough to think this question had to be asked? Well, the usual suspects actually did. And that's why the usual suspects are about as relevent as a pimple on my ass these days.

If some enterprising agency really wanted to inform me of something I'd actually like to know, they might ask some of these questions.

"Mr. Al Zarkowi, tens of thousands of your supporters have been slaughtered on the ground in Iraq. The Iraqi people are turning more of them in every day. The Iraqi forces and most religious leaders think you're a punk assasin. Calls for your head are being desminated from every quarter. You're having to hide like a scared third grade girl. You're men are ill equiped, can't possibly prevent democracy from fluorishing in Iraq. You can't win this war even in your wildest dreams. Killing masses of innocent men women and children are the best you can hope for. Don't you think it might be a resonable time to get the hell out and not look back?"

Yes, I would like to know the answer to that question. The silence is deafening.

"Mr. Terrorist. I guess you know better than anyone else that tens of thousands of your fellow terrorists have been blown to bits in Iraq, hundreds of thousands more had arms and legs and god knows what else, blown off. You can't possibly win. While you're out there sweating like a death row inmate sitting in the electric chair, Al Zarkowi is sipping date marmelades and being fanned with palm frons. Do you wish this war was over? Do you think it's time he paid the same price you eventually will?"

Now there's some questions I'd like to know the answers to. My, my, I could hear a pin drop.

"Good evening Mrs. Mohair. You've got three sons fighting for Al Zarkowi on the ground in Iraq. You haven't heard from them in eighteen months. Do you still support the war?"

I mean, if we're going to ask U.S. citizens pointed questions, dont' you think it might be interesting to see some of the same questions asked of the parents of those getting their asses kicked by the Iraqi military and U.S. troops on the ground in Iraq? What's that? Why I think it's a car door three blocks down. Not a peep here.

I've seen a lot of talk about caskets. Why aren't troops caskets shown on U.S. television? Why it's a major scandle! Okay, where are the caskets of the terrorists whose bits are being buried back home. Show the truck full of those Mr. hot shot newspaper editor. Let's see the video of that Mr. production manager.

We're not going to hear any of these questions. We're not going to see any of this footage either. The truth is, our forces are literally eviserating the enemy. The Iraqis have had it with with terrorists. They are turning on them in droves. Even the former pals of the terrorists have had it. They are voting and the terrorists are being turned in.

We are told that the U.S. is losing. We are told that we can't possibly win. We are told that it was a stupid idea and we should never have gone it. If so, it seems a few pointed questions could verify that. Why don't I hear those questions?

"Mrs. Mauamood, you just voted for the first time in your life at 37. Aren't you really angry at the Americans for invading and occupying your nation against your will?"

Crickets...

"Murium, you're attending your third year of school since the American troops invaded and occupied your nation. Don't you just hate them?"

Tics crawling...

"Abdul, your wife and daughters don't have to worrry about being raped by Hussein, his sons, their friends and the Republican guard. Doesn't this cause you to want to kill every American you see?"

Coyotes at 3.5 miles...

"Joseph, you're Iraqi Parliament just convened for the first time in your lifetime. The government you helped set up is funtioning as it should. Don't you hate Americans?"

"Razoor, your nation isn't worth fighting for is it? I mean, you've had to put up with so much. Freedom can't be worth this much to you can it?"

Nope, I don't hear the answers to these questions. Nobody is asking them. They are not important.

The disinformation campaign being waged by the U.S. M.S.M. is as broad and deep as it is sickening and taiterous.

M.S.M., there are just a few more questions I'd like to hear the answers to.

"Mr. and Mrs. American, have had your fill of a media that has sought to destroy the national will to win the war on terrorism? Do you think it's time that the hamer came down on folks who spin for the Al Qaeda and Taliban every single friggen day, day in and day out? Are you sick and tired of seeing someone elses chances of freedom being destroyed while your sons and daughters spill their blood to achieve it for them?"

M.S.M. You folks really need to understand something. The American public recognizes you for the marxist scumbags you are, seeking to defeat everything that is wholesome in and about this nation. They will not put up with this forever.

Astute to the max, DoughtyOne!

Not only are polls "all the rage", they are like manna from heaven for the MSM. Cable news shows on CNN and MSNBC wouldn't have a lead-in if their sister news corps didn't do a poll for them to talk about. Same with politicians.

Have you noticed how politicians pepper their spin with skewed poll results? For them, it's as if polls have replaced actual truth. The other day I was almost shocked when a rogue reporter actually asked Russ Feingold a challenging follow-up question. Feingold responded with, "you can't prove that, there hasn't been a poll done on that". I LOL at Feingold, who seemed to think reality didn't exist unless a poll had been conducted to confirm it.

Since the polls always oversample Democrats by a HUGE margin, they are quite simply useless as reality.

They get MSM spun as reality, though, of course.

Bump. Good going!

Polls are to the MSM as advertising is to corporate America and serve the same purpose. To get you to buy their product.

In the case of the alphabet media, it is to get you to believe their propaganda.

Any of these advertising slogans sound familiar?

Oh, what a feeling!

Where’s the beef?

Kills roaches dead.

The choice of the new generation.

The Breakfast of Champions.

Reach out and touch someone.

Don’t leave home without it.

The cheese that goes crunch.

Snap! Crackle! Pop!

The Uncola

Like polling, none of the above slogans mean a thing about the pro's and con's of the product.

In answser to your title question, no, it would make no difference. The polls would still show Bush with a low approval rating, it would still show that most people want to kill their unborn children and it would still show that everyone in the world thinks Iraq was a bad idea. I think they come up with their conclusions first and then go out seeking the people to fit them. They keep calling until they get the demographic they want.

Overheard in the polling room: "Brian, we need one more person against the Iraq war in order to make these numbers work. Keep calling until you find her! We have a poll to rig here people. Let's get moving!"

If the poll involved OUR president W it would STILL be 100 against, 0 for, without one soul being in the dessert.

Continuing with G. Mason's spot on analogy, you would complain to Tony the Tiger but still buy his snit?

The MSM enables the Dems and Pubbies to damn America with cacocracy. Democracy is the rule of fools by fools.

Here's a little information about polls that is NEVER mentioned. During the clinton reign I questioned the pools so I decided to get an inside view of pooling. I took a part-time job as a phone interviewer at a major polling organization.

I immediately noticed the quality of my fellow interviewers. They were divided into three about equal parts. 1) College students 2) High school dropouts and 3) very troubled individuals (drugs problems, alcohol problems and financial problems). All three groups were predominately leftists.

Then I learned something even more relevant. We had a question about hillery. About 70% of those I called answered "dislike". When I mentioned this on break another interviewer said "I don't care what they say. I like her and that's why I always push the key (computer) that says "favorable"!

So when you see a pool that you don't agree with remember what I'm saying and DON'T BELIEVE what's being reported.
