Kudos again to FR, Buckhead, Howlin, Texasforever, NYCVirago, and of course Jim for having this site to begin with.

"Chapter 9 "We're Toast" pg 143 - 145 directly credits Freepers above with uncovering the "missing Documents" out of President Bush's National Guard Service that were distinctly unflattering to the President, and also flat forgeries.

I am reading the book at the moment, and I wanted to pause and give credit where credit is due. I thank all those who helped bring to light these roaches that considered themselves so important as to try to influence a Presidential Election. I thank all of you personally who were influential in finally getting to call the MSM on the carpet, SUCCESSFULY! Bill Sammon has immortalized you in print, you are all immortal in my heart, you were the tipping point in an election. I am eternally grateful! You have done this Nation a service that can not be quantified.

Freepers CAN do a great deal of good when they get the bit in their teeth, and fill their saddlebags with facts. I have a background in print media advertising (long, long ago). The instant I read Buckhead's famous Post #47, I knew then and there he had it right, and the documents were fakes.

Bringing down Rather was the turning point in the war between the Old Media and the New Media. And the first shot in that war, it's Lexington and Concord, was fired by Buckhead.

Interesting ... Bush's service record (from your detailed reference thread) from May to July 1973 has been pulled by Acrobat ( ...or SEE BS??? ).. LOL. Perhaps they were rightly threatened with slander/libel and who knows what else by the man they so tried to destroy?? Blather never told the truth anyway, so we'd never know the repercussions from him or his former "superiors."

First and for most, thank you for your service and sacrifice. I was born after the Viet Nam War, but it is my hope (and I believe it will happen) that it is my generation that is remembered for bringing the honor that is due to those of you who sacrificed so much of yourselves for so many who were ungrateful back at home. Thanks to places like this, the history of that war is being corrected to finally tell the truth and it is my belief that my generation sees the real Viet Nam. A war where our soldiers never lost an engagement, of POW's who survived torture for 6,7,8 years and never dishonored themselves or their country. And most of all, the complete dishonor of so-called 'patriots' who spit on, cursed and shamelessly spread lies about the only true honorable men of their generation. God Bless you and all who have served this great nation.
