FReeper Canteen ~ What's The Origin Of Your Screenname? ~ March 16, 2006

Posted on 03/15/2006 5:59:14 PM PST by StarCMC
What is the origin of your screen name? Come tell us your story.... How'd ya choose your screen name? A situation in your life? Part of a song? Your Military service?
For me, it was three times I came across "Misbehavin" that decided it for me! I bought a blouse that had that on the tag... Then my MIL gave me a book about a cat called Ms.Behavin.. Then I heard the song "Ain't Misbehavin!"
So there ya have it! Have fun! Please, no politics in The Canteen.. We want our troops to rest, relax and relate!
Now tell us YOUR story!! |

The House Republicans lost their nerve in '95. The Senate Republicans failed us in January '99. Republican rule in Congress was getting us nowhere.
With no politicians ruling our way, what was left to fight for except a Reign of Freedom, a.k.a. a FreeReign.
I've become more pragmatic since...
To: Horatio Gates
Good evening, Horatio....thanks for your service to country and community.
Close.

LOL...nobody in these parts actually puts cars in the garage. I do have a rather nice Coleman pop-up tent camper in there. I may have room for the Hyundai in there but I doubt I could open the doors far enough to get out of the car :)

Well, My beagles would probably eat a kangaroo, but all you would have to do is shoot it and throw it out there.
They would eat the whole damn thing!

Hi Kathy! Close is good if I read the fine print there okay.
So what is the mystery behind the name "Kathy in Alska?" It's a little vague....8>)

Duke was my father's nickname because he looked like John Wayne. Billie was my mother's name. Combined it becomes DukeBillie.
Duke was career Army doctor - loved and respected by all who knew him. Billie was the strength and love that kept him and 5 kids going. Out of 5 kids only two were born on the mainland. One was born 2 month premature on a military transport coming back from Okinawa.
I loved growing up on military bases. I chose my screen name to honor them and all they did for me. They are gone but not forgotten!

Ya know...you got the #666. You know what that means don't you?? You might wanna pick up a pregnancy test soon. LOL!!!!
=======
That's impossible! I couldn't have got the #666 because I didn't post #662, #663, #664 & #665 saying "mine", "mine", "mine" & "mine" like the rest of the spoiled FR children do! Heheheh (dirty laugh)
Now... that pregnancy thingy has me worried. Not sure I can support another FR baby !!! ;-))

Well lessee - its been a while ... Me and this cute blonde had just closed out the bar and headed out to Lover's Lane and ... Oh. Screen Name? I thought you said Scream Name...
Well - that's an entirely different story. ;-)
Actually I'd lurked here for more than a year but while watching Gore trying to steal the election in 2000 I just had to jump in and say something - having a few rabidly dim clients I wasn't going to sign up with my real name, Fred T. Farnsworth, so I went with my Napster ID - which at the time I was happily downloading digital versions of music I already owned.
And yes I never listen to music on the radio because I haven't paid for it.
Now the serious part. I was 2S in college 72-74. My number was 24. I went through my year of eligibility in 74 on purpose knowing I wouldn't be called as things were winding down. Do I feel guilty for gaming the system? Yes. Am I happy I wasn't killed in a war we weren't trying to win? Yes.
I will only say that out of high school VN looked like a lost cause (Peace with honor) and yet deep in my soul I hurt knowing a lot better men than me never came back.
One of my best friends/clients is a decorated Swiftboat Captain - he always says send me a bill - I rarely do but I do let him take me to lunch at Hooters on occasion. ;-) For all you who served - please accept my humble thanks. I do support our troops as I can and cannot change the past. Just another FReeper, Charlie
