FReeper Canteen ~ What's The Origin Of Your Screenname? ~ March 16, 2006

What is the origin of your screen name? Come tell us your story.... How'd ya choose your screen name? A situation in your life? Part of a song? Your Military service?
For me, it was three times I came across "Misbehavin" that decided it for me! I bought a blouse that had that on the tag... Then my MIL gave me a book about a cat called Ms.Behavin.. Then I heard the song "Ain't Misbehavin!"
So there ya have it! Have fun! Please, no politics in The Canteen.. We want our troops to rest, relax and relate!
Now tell us YOUR story!! |

Well, getting ready for OU in the NCAA. OSU got eliminated from the NIT so hopefully OU will have better luck.

Thanks! I booked marked and will share with friends. Look forward to the announcement. I agree and very pleased to hear of true Republicans/Conservatives running for Party committee seats.

From the "Received in e-mail" files:
I was scheduled to fly from North Carolina to Germany, where my husband was stationed in the military. As I checked in at the airport, the ticket agent asked me some standard security questions. "Has anyone given you any packages that you didn't pack yourself?" he asked.
I told him that my mother-in-law had given me a parcel to
take to her son.
He looked at me very carefully and asked: "Does she like you?"

I'm a big Tolkien fan and I read LORT several times.
My favorite character in LOTR is the youngest hobbit, Peregrin Took "Pippin". So, at the encouragement from Billie and some other FReepers, I chose Pippin even though Pippin is a male character. I just think it's too cute of a name for just boys or men only. Girls gotta have fun too! :o)
To: Pippin
Hi Pip totally agree Pippin is a lovely name it reminds me of my favourite apples
Kentish Orange Pippin Coxes.

Hi, guys! Good to see you here.
That's the first thing I though of when I saw Pippin's name, too....the apple. I am not a fan of the Hobbits.
Did you tell us about your name, too, snugs? I'll bet you'll never understand mine! ;o)

Morning all. I have to do a drive-by posting as my machine is re-booting in 10 minutes.
I got my name back int he 80's. I was teaching 5-year-olds Sunday School. They found out I was doing martial arts and Karate Kid was at the movies. THey called me Sensei instead of teacher. SO, I adopted it for online BBSing(before public access to the internet). WHen the internet took off, Sensei was often taken, so I took Sensei Ern to identify myself.
Now you know, what are you going to do with that info? ;)

Be sure to ping me to the announcement. I don't live in NY, but I am interested in the things you are trying to accomplish up there in your area.
