We Americans will continue to be told 'islam is a religion of peace'. Americans know the truth about islam. Our leaders are either blind, don't care, or the money paid by islam is too enormous to argue with. I believe it to be the money.

The port deal and other attempts by foreign countries to "take over" certain parts of our economy will continue because of the fact that these countries hold America hostage to our large national debt.

We do not ow our national debt of over seven trillion dollars to ourselves as some like to say. We owe it to whoever holds the treasury bond and to whom we must pay interest.

Unlike Americans who hold T-Bonds, foreign holders can demand gold for their dollars. This pressure to convert foreign holdings into gold forces our government to sometimes do things the average American does not understand.

We can expect further assaults on our economy as our debt mounts. This is sustainable until we are unable to hold off creditors by pawning more of our national wealth as a payoff. When that happens the equivalent of sovereign bankruptcy occur rs.

The United Kingdom is a good example of a modern nation declaring bankruptcy. What becomes bankrupt is the country's sovereignty.

There have already been too many times when nations such as Japan, Italy, Germany and others have saved our bacon. The time will come when the holders of our debt will demand that a trustee be set up to handle our affairs.

Sorry, but that's the truth.

He should point out to that woman of the Dutch Ministry of Integration that she is in a classic battered-woman's syndrome. The men she deals with clearly want to dominate, have no respect, and are barely kept in check by gestures of submission and appeasement.

That [Bush] address the nation and the world, and tell them that the United States is going to lead the resistance to jihad and Sharia supremacism in the name of equality of rights and dignity of all peoples.

That would be a wonderful moment and is, in fact, the only possible strategy for dealing with this. Name the enemy and make the battle and its terms clear. This would also free up any Muslims who want to oppose "jihad" to do so.

Sadly, it's not going to happen.

We must give the Islamic world the same three options they offer us:

• Conversion
• Dhimmitude
• Death

I don't mean conversion to Christianity (or Judaism, or Hindusim, or . . .), but conversion to (lower-case) democracy. They must accept that infidels have all the same rights Muslims do. Since this would be a violation of the Koran, I describe it as "conversion," which is essentially the same term the Muslims use.

If they won't convert, then Dhimmitude is the next alternative, just as the Muslims offer it to Christians and Jews in Muslim countries. We need to rule the Islamic world in much the same way the British Empire ruled India. Let them have those customs that are harmless to us, or that don't violate basic human rights (like suttee), but otherwise just keep the lid on them.

If neither of those work, there is only one alternative left. And we'd better make it clear we mean it.

This is a sobering post. Nothing is gained by denial and kidding ourselves that if we give them what they want, Islam will morph into a bunch of Baptists at a cake sale who just want us to move the family car. (Substitute any other religion you like for Baptists.) You know who'll be blamed for not solving the problem before the mass turned critical...the US. We're the world's super power. Jihad happened on our watch. We should have smited them early and hard. Our reaction to 9/11 wasn't enough, and if anybody's left, they'll write books based on that.
