I was there 1876-80 (and grad school 1985-88, but not on main campus very much). How do you account for such a gap in your education?
:O)

We can assume that, but I think "Reza" implies that this young man is related to the Iranian ROYAL family. I think it's a stretch to say he's a royal based on the name. Google "Reza" and see how many hits you get. It seems to be a fairly common name.

Yes, I'm thinking the vehicle was supposed to blow-up in that tight area between all those buildings - swarming with students - I think we dodged a bullet here...
To: Heatseeker
True, but given his age and middle name, you can assume that his family aren't in love with the ayatollahs!

What kind of car would Mohammed drive? Trick question. He would drive a truck laden with explosives packed in nails.
To: GAB-1955
Not necessarily. Many of the 9/11 terrorists were the sons of upper-middle class professional, respectable types who would never have considered doing such a thing.
I'm not totally sold on the guy being of Iranian descent yet either. Let's wait and see if we get more info (assuming the MSM don't hush it all up).

No doubt the crazies in congress are not amused that this man was arrested. After all, he hadn't committed mayhem yet.

And don't forget that the first WTC bombers were caught when they tried to get the deposit back on the van they had rented to blow up the building...

Iran was Persia ...and it was the Sassanid Empire before the Arabs invaded and conquered it for Islam 635-650 AD.

Probably on an F1 student visa (if he has bothered to keep up with the immigration laws). Let us not forget that Islam is the "official" religion of UNC. This is the same place which mandated a course in "Understanding Islam" for freshmen after 9/11.
Wouldn't have been a bad idea but for the fact that the texts chosen were written by radical islamists and liberal professors who chose to leave out all references to "haraam," "infidel," "kaffir," "jihad," and the like.
Where is separation of Church and state when liberal professors push Islam in the classroom?
