Dear Muslims in America,
May I suggest that it is time you got yourselves established as part of the American Way of Life, and not people of a religion that belongs to them and not to us.
I have been sending the following email to various calendar makers. You may like to do the same and get your holidays included in the 2007 calendars.
I have noticed that many calendars in the USA list the Christian and the Jewish holidays, but not the Muslim ones.
As there are now 8 million Muslims in the USA, exceeding the 6 million Jews, Islam is now the second most popular religion in the USA, after Christianity.
I feel that their holidays should also be included in the yearly calendars.
Here is the list of Muslim Holidays that could be included on 2007 calendars.
BTW, if you are wondering why the dates of the Muslim Holidays are 10 or 11 days earlier each year, it is because they follow the lunar year, which is about 355 days.
So the dates for 2007 will not work for 2008!
Look forward to hearing from you.

As an aside, I've seen very few, as in no, calendars that list Jewish holidays other than those published for that purpose.
Maybe we'll do this when calenders in Islamic countries start including Jewish and Christian holidays.
It's not hard to remember September 11. I don't think it has to be printed on the calendar.
...starting with 9/11.
They left off Thirteen Ducks Eve, and Planet Platoon Day
Any calendar sent to this house depicting TROP holidays will go straight to the trash can...fast.
Isn't every day a holy day for them? If so, then there'd be no room left to scribble in "soccer practice 4 - 6 pm".
Where the hell does this woman get this 8 million person figure? I thought at last count it was 4 million one year ago, a 100% increase in one year? Don't think so.
Let's include the North American Graded Stakes events on all calendars, and say we forced the calendar makers to include something that they otherwise never would have included.

No kidding.
45 jellybeans for anyone that texts "Get off the text ya' big dope!"
Must be somewhere you can download this stuff.
BTW, I expect this to happen about the same time as the sun begins to rise in the south.
Indonesia, the largest Islamic county in terms of population, observes holidays of Islam, Christian, Buddhism, and Hinduism. All are recognized as national holiday. But, then, these people were part of the nation since its conception.
"Maybe we'll do this when calenders in Islamic countries start including Jewish and Christian holidays."
Good idea, and maybe that can happen just after the First Babtist/Methodist, etc. Church of Saudi Arabia opens.
No one knows, we don't track religion here. Most of the 4 to 7 million estimates come from groups like CAIR. They count all Arabs as Muslim, despite the fact that most are Christian. I've read estimates of 2 million or so, which is probably closer to the truth.
When Muslims start putting Israel on their maps, I'll entertain the idea of putting their holidays on my calendar.
Nay...
Chanukah, Purim, Passover,Yom Kippur are listed on many secular calenders to name a few. We have several secular calenders around the house from different places and have these holidays listed.
