There has been some sort of explosion near 82nd and I-27 at a propane station. NewsChannel 11 is continuing to unravel the details right now. We know that traffic is being diverted on the interstate right now and it is urged that you avoid that area. Authorities tell us that people need to stay inside their cars and not to approach the fire. NewsChannel 11 currently has multiple crews on the scene looking for answers as to what caused the explosions and if there has been any injuries. We will have the latest on this developing news story tonight on NewsChannel 11 at 5, 6 & 10.
My wife and I were both raised on the Llano Estacado, (eastern New Mexico) we live in the DFW area now. I would move back out there in a minute but I'm afraid Mrs ladtx would be splittin' the blanket on that one.
I have spent many a weekend exploring Eastern New Mexico - there is much to see and do. Capitan and Cloudcroft are some of my regular stops.
Do they make lefsa in lukenbach?
Sounds like they must have gone ahead and used the mild sauce, instead of the hot sauce, throwing packages of it at the 18,000 gal tank from behind Pedro's Tamales.
When I was a kid we used to go to Ruidoso regularly. Haven't been back there in years tho'. Lincoln County Courthouse was always a good stop. They still had the bullet holes in the wall put there by Billy the Kid when he escaped. Carlsbad Caverns is always interesting. Hard to imagine such a huge hole in the ground. The tour guides say the Empire State Building would fit in the "Big Room". Bottomless Lakes State Park makes for a nice weekend getaway too.
Can not be Lubbock Texas, as nothing ever happens there.

Good point.
I live in this LUBBOCK TX now and have for 17 years.
We who live here forget there are other places in the United States.
If you come, we will build it.
I had a good day visiting Bottomless Lakes a couple of years ago. It has been a few years since I last visited Carlsbad Caverns. I plan to make some trips to Western New Mexico - much to see and visit there (I want to visit the VLA).
I love going to White Sands (especially the missile range) and the Space Hall of Fame in Alamogordo is pretty damn cool.
You have been here longer than I. I can here in the Fall of 1993. It took some time to become accustomed to the terrain.
I've never heard much bad about Lubbock except it's dry and there isn't much to do. Nice people though. I've met Joe, Butch, and Jimmy, nicer fellas you'll never know.
Not Terrorisn.
Yeah, but it's PROPANE and Propane Related Supplies & Equipment. That's why Hank Hill had to be posted.
Is this in Texas?
Yes. When I posted that pic, it was dayligt. I thought that it was just a still from their tower camera because they did not indicate that it was a live feed from their Tower Cam. So, we now have a view of SE Lubbock at night.
It was local news, but you may find it interesting.
Just Bobby Knight having another tantrum.
Amazingly, he has been rather restrained since arriving at TTU; his outbursts have been few and much less "spectacular" than his tantrums in the old days.
