Looks like I'm defeating liberalism by just staying home and taking care of my babies! Hey, beaversmom, we're heroes!
What a b----. "An educated, competent person's place is in the office." Get an ignorant fool to take care of your children, sure. Or fix your car, fine. Or make your car. Then you'll have something to complain about during your power lunch. And may the waitress spit in your soup.
Arrogant, elitist, senseless b----.

These days it takes a continuing education to fight the LIBERALS as you do mothering at home. Those mothers who sit around watching Oprah and soaps and bemoaning their state in life (liberals, mostly, I'd wager) ARE failing....the ones who are helping Johnny and Janie learn to live in THIS world with moral convictions and conservative values are the HERO'S!!!
There's a FReeper on here called homeschoolmomX6 or some such name... I wonder what she would say!
>"I am saying an educated, competent adult's place is in the office," Hirshman told "Good Morning America."
Translation: Let someone else raise and brainwash your child with liberal ideas
This feminized culture assumes relationships between husbands/wives/kids are naturally adversarial and that someone (Nanny STate) needs to step in and manage them.
Isn't the "team" her family?
Just clarifying her thoughts a little bit.
Rabbi Haim reveals something most profound. A woman's soul is on a higher spiritual level than that of her husband. Therefore, from the physical side a wife is dependent upon her husband for financial support. Yet, from the spiritual side a husband is dependent upon his wife for spiritual support. It is this state of conflicting dominance that causes the strife in most marriages today.
No female soul or male soul is a complete human soul without the other. Male and female are two halves of the same whole. What affects the one, therefore, affects the other. This becomes most clear when it comes time for marriage.
I stayed home and raised my babies. Did the team mom and home room mom thing. Hauled lacrosse gear around behind the team, before and after the game. Cooked meals instead of eating out, to save money. Kids are out of college now. And I went back to work. Over the last 3 years, I have gone from mom to making over 50K.
Not one regret. Not a single one. My time for outside work is now. Did I mention that I had a great husband. Maybe that's the key......
An "this is what I've been talking about all this time" BUMP
Hmm I should probably clarify what I meant by my post- this is what feminism has been saying all along- it's not about freedom of choice, it's about going to work. The feminists have it all wrong on this one, just to clarify :-)
Thank God that all of my grandchildren are being raised by stay at home moms.
Thanks! And I don't care what she buys into it really is the most fulfilling job. Yes, there are down and out downer days. But there are those days "in the office" also. I got my education to support myself should I never marry or should I have to support myself later on. But I always knew I wanted to stay home with the kids. And I chose a husband that wanted the same and could support us financially. Doesn't mean my education might not be helpful in a time of need.

Sounds like she would like to FORCE women to put their kids in daycare. Good grief, wasn't feminism supposed to be about women having choices, including the choice of being a stay at home mom?
Beware ideologues, they love their theoretical castles more then any real live human being.
Her arrogance is breathtaking. How dare she "decide" for the rest of us what we do with our lives. Sounds like communism -- oh, wait, that's exactly what it is.
